Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
No worse cause energey was a powerful mechanic/tool and the scry was very helpful. Not to mention Kaldesh had Torrential Gearhulks which could be used to cast Glimmer twice.
Control decks usually run Glimmer without any Energy outlets, which is why I asked specifically "Ignoring the Energy benefit". Obviously, if you have any use for the Energy, you run Glimmer. What's left is deciding if the Graveyard effect is better than Scry 2.
Either way, better than Glimmer or not, it has the obvious synergy with Surveil in the current Standard environment which means it will be a easy replacement for Control.
EDIT: I just remembered Azcanta exists. I keep my "better than Glimmer" stance.
definitely one of the draw spells we needed. I believe there will still be a better one in the set after this one. Probably will be a rare WWU spell for the azorius guild.
This card is great. They sit in your graveyard waiting to be cashed in when you draw a brick. Not as strong as Glimmer, but way better than Illumination. Also, a lot of synergy with Surveil. It makes up nicely for Torrential Gearhulk being gone to recycle your draw spells.
2. Could be worse. Could be cantrip with the set's keyword.
Okay, I'll admit, I liked Train of Thought somewhat, hard to counter card draw is pretty useful. But I didn't see the point of Think Twice in Time Spiral and barely got it as a werewolf hoser (because such a thing was totally needed amirite?) in Innistrad. And I still don't get the point of Evermind except to establish that no casting cost makes something uncastable (which they would change with Time Spiral).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
And I still don't get the point of Evermind except to establish that no casting cost makes something uncastable (which they would change with Time Spiral).
This has been established since Alpha. Cyclopean Tomb was originally printed without a casting cost (in error) and people assumed it cost 0. They clarified that non-lands without casting cost could not be cast, but the card was an error and should cost 4

Rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain.
Glimmer is way more powerful, the scry makes it so that you almost always draw quality cards. This isn't bad but I think that you need to have some ways to exploit its jumpstart ability (other than casting it, e.g. Search for Azcanta/surveil) to make the best use of the card.
And I still don't get the point of Evermind except to establish that no casting cost makes something uncastable (which they would change with Time Spiral).
To let you turn every arcane spell into a cantrip for 1U each time.
Problem there being that most arcane spells weren't that great and so it just tended to sit there after that point mocking you, and I'm assuming that this is why you don't get the point.

Plays very well with Surveil. And wow. Definitely the best Jump-start card so far.
Ignoring the Energy benefit, is this better than Glimmer of Genius? I honestly think so.
If this doesn't see play, though, it's because UX Control will not be viable at all.
