Additionally, it's the only practical way they can ensure the proper rarity for mythics. By having one mythic, and 7 other rares, they can ensure the 1 in 8 rarity of mythics is maintained. Barring going up to 16 cards (and you've already seen how hard it is to just put together a list of 8 rares/mythics that fit), any other number would require duplication of some of the cards to maintain that 1 in 8 ratio, which would result in wonky rarities.
Well, no. Thats a good point, and logistically it makes sense, but it is entirely possible for them to have any number of different rares and mythics, and yet set up a distribution mechanic that makes sure that a mythic shows up in 1/8 packs. It´s not the most likely way for them to do it, but it is doable.

I'm starting to think either they're not abiding by the 1:8 Mythic:Rare ratio, or there are actually 16 possible promos (14 regular and 2 Mythics), with maybe some mono-colored rares being possible in two guilds?
I'm not entirely surprised if they expanded it though, since we just came from a whole series of sets that had all rares/mythics as possible promos and when the 1:8 ratio was used for only 8 cards, it was for the regular rare in the seeded pack, since the promo was a consistent decided rare back then, so this new system was not entirely the same to begin with.
If there were 14 regular and two mythic we’d have seen a lot more variety by now. We’d have seen a Mythic that isn’t the guild leader. We’d have seen some artifacts or lands or more off-guild monos. Yes it looks like there are more than 7 different rares possible per guild. But it doesn’t look anything like there’s 14.
There are two usual Mythic ratios. One is ‘one Mythic per 8 packs’, but the other is ‘any individual Mythic is printed exactly half as much as any individual rare’. They’re screwing with Mythic math no matter what they do here. If they went to 1/10 in these packs? I wouldn’t be shocked.
I think the seeded packs are problematic due to people potentially picking a color just for value. Golgari by far has that going for it right now.

I think the seeded packs are problematic due to people potentially picking a color just for value. Golgari by far has that going for it right now.
Golgari is assassin trophy and maybe Vraska. Other playable promos is the spider and the (maybe) troll. If the guy is beating on that odd for value then this guy is dumb (imo)(trying to top8 and open boosters that way is way better)(also promo date stamped is not far from a non foil card,in most of the cases). Dimir, Izzet, and Selesnya have all consistente UC, half the promos are playable (and good) in limited and are worth some. Boros looks like the win or have a hard time winning kind of promo and pool but it looks better than golgari imo.
In my LGS they do preregistrations where you reserve your kit, and the Dimir kits went first by far, then Golgari. Most people feel that Dimir is the strongest guild in the set and that it lends itself to the slower format of Sealed. So it's not all about value.
Has anyone seen a promo Vraska or Ral anywhere?

you can discount the 2M/14R ratio for one simple reason. there aren't that many rares. 53 in the set, 56 needed for that mix.
My golgari promo was gruesome menagerie. Didn't have much of an impact since the creatures I had were not that good. I don't like golgari in sealed, you need creatures in the grave to do stuff but also in play if you want to attack and win.
I did open two shock lands though, out of the 5 packs so I got some money back that way.

When u get a golgari pack and get 3 izzet rares, 2 boros rares and Gruesome Menagerie Promo.....
Also so many of the rares do nothing in this set. Like Explosion cost way too much mana to be useful 90% of the time, Ionize was just worse than Devious Cover-Up every time I used it. Omnispell Adept is terrible in this set since most the spells are cheap enough you'd rather just hard cast them or have X in their mana cost. All he does is give sorceries flash.
Well, I asked for selesnya and got a good guild pack with Beast Whisperer, siege Wurm, the 2/2 vigilance, the 3 mana put 2 1/1, the elf that can pump, and the overcosted giant growth... but the rest of the boosters... I used the pool, had tecnically 6 creatures with cmc < 3 (counting the spell that puts 2 1/1 as 2 creatures) ... lots of convoke creatures (about 8). And that was all 15 creatures high curve... tryed to play it but seccond game went with grixis (5 lands for fixing) and did very well.
Think those seeded packs could be just 1 promo from the guild, about 3-5 comuns from the guild and 1 guild gate and 1 locket. And have 6 boosters for god’s sake
