I was one of the few that thought these wouldn't be in here, as they've been stingy with lands for a while, but I am SUPER glad they are. Currently they are between $8-$16 and with this set not only having these but also Masterpieces I wouldn't be surprised to see these in the $5-$10 range, if not a little less for maybe one or two of them. These are going to be opened up like crazy between those MP hunting, Shock hunting, and drafting.
I personally hope these go down to $3-$8 because then they could be cheap enough to include in supplementary products like Commander, various Duel Deck esque like product (like the new Guild Decks), Challenger Decks, and others without someone going "It would be too expensive, people will just pick them up and there won't be any for others", or some other nonsense like that.
Let these drop to near pennies. I'm all for it.
They have masterpieces in the set? I thought I heard they only had them in that special online only booster pack product that costs 250 dollars. Do you know where the article is that said they had them because it would be a relief to find out that the regular boxes have the masterpiece walkers as well.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Glad they've been reprinted (I suppose, I don't really play competitive, but I'm happy for people getting cards cheaper) but kind of disappointed it happened in the third Ravnica block. This pretty much locks shocklands being in Ravnica by precedent, which means we'll only get them when returning to Ravnica and each Ravnica block will have them. Save for masterpieces shenanigans, this has put Wizards quite into a corner they have a hard time backing out.

In terms of Ravnica == Standard, yeah. But for reprints? Not really. Commander could get them and Modern-only sets will get them.
I initially thought we would never get Modern-only sets but I'm growing more convinced we'll get them in lieu of sets like Modern Masters (pure reprints) or supplemental sets like Battlebond (not Modern legal). I think the exhaustive inability for Standard-Legal sets to feed proper reprints and new cards into Modern is finally being realized by WotC. Not sure how likely we'll get Shocklands in a set like that but the opportunity is there.

Not necessarily. WotC may not go back for a fourth visit in 6 years. On top of that none of the names are specific to the plane so they could very easily print them in a set/block say every 3 years to keep them in Standard.
I am one of the hardest critics of WotC on a number of issues, but I really can't see where printing a STAPLE, lands that are the BEST in Standard and Modern should illicit any disappointment.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
I'm glad to see shocklands reprinted here. Yeah, it may be expected and a bit boring, but I know i'd be quite upset if they didn't reprint them. Is an easy and safe choice that ensures a bit of value in the set and make players happy. The main reason this reprint makes sense is for standard play: with all ten checklands currently legal, shocklands are well and welcome as early turn untapped duals wich can fix your mana without tempo loss.
2 things I expected out of ravnica - Shocklands and hybrid. Hybrid has yet to be confirmed, and I'm nervous about it.
Shadowmoor and Eventide were my favourite sets of all time (Lorwyn/Morningtide my LEAST favourite) so you can tell I have a soft sport for hybrid.

Sorry to bust your bubble but as of now there are NO Masterpieces in Guilds of Ravnica.
There are some Promo Alt art Planeswalkers that Hasbro is selling on their website.
.......
Some mod really needs to change the title of that thread from [GRN]Planeswalker Masterpieces to the more accurate description that is [MED] Promo Planeswalkers by Hasbro. Its creating confusion.

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
Now that we know Shocklands will be in Guilds Of Ravnica, and almost certainly Ravnica Allegiance, it kinda takes away an element of suspense for me. They’d have to give me things I never knew I wanted in the coming set spoilers. And in a small way I’m waiting to see if prowess is still evergreen and utilized in this set and it’s design space.

Odd, I assumed shocks as a given, and since I already have them in Modern, I look forward to the set for what else it has to offer. Surveil has a very real chance of giving us a busted card.
I mean that is unfortunately the case with Ravnicas 10 guilds split 50/50 over 2 sets. From the day of announcement it was clear that the second will mirror the first.
The guild mechanics are however always something to look forward too. They rend to work well and are usually a good addition to the game.
Prowess is probably gone for good. I was actually very surprised they made that evergreen in the first place.

There may be some slight deviations from 'mirror' though. For instance in RtR there was a cycle of 5 hybrid 1-drops at uncommom (Judge's Familiar, Slitherhead, Rakdos Cackler, Blistercoil Weird, Dryad Militant). People thought Gatecrash, bring RtR's 'mirror', would likewise have a cycle of uncommon 1-drop hybrids for its five guilds. It did not. It feels like that might have been the plan for Boros Elite / Experiment One / Thrull Parasite / Wasteland Viper... but I would guess that the Dimir one was dropped and the other four knocked back to monocolor somewhere along the dev/test way.

I think Prowess is slowly becoming Deciduous, or worse.
I don't get folks who for a moment thought these might NOT be in. You could print a set with nothing but blank cardboard pieces in boosters apart from boosters that have a Shockland in them, and folks would still line up for drafts. The sad thing is that Ravnica blocks weren't really all that good most of the time. You'd get a runaway mechanic or two, maybe. You'd get a few basic-but-solid or even simply pushed cards that are undercosted or overly reliable due to being multicolored. You'd get a decentish, usable card out of some of the many cycles that multicolored blocks seem crammed with. You'd get a metric ton of completely unplayable crap that you look at years afterwards and can't even give away because noone could possibly want it for any reason.
And you get Shocklands. They come into play untapped, produce two types of mana, and count as both types of land. They're pretty much Alpha Duals. From the WoTC perspective this is "we've got Shocklands in boosters" time, not "we're putting a set out" time. It's the whole point to the set. Anyone who started playing after RTR, doesn't have these unless they're rich, and most folks aren't, and they haven't really had a chance to get these. And everyone who doesn't exclusively play monocolored pauper wants these. I'm not expecting the price to drop, I'm expecting record paper draft attendance. I'm also kinda expecting the block to mostly suck, but do very well financially, as you don't have to bother if you've got these things in the packs. Khans were surprisingly good for a multicolor heavy set, but Ravnica's were always kinda meh overall.
As for the price drop due to availability... You can't soak up the demand for these things. People don't trade these away. What the price is will be determined by card stores, and they don't want the price dropping either.
"Masques Block is the worst block ever! There's not one decent card in there! The whole internet say's so, you're literally the only person who ever said it was good!" - random noob in a conversation with an Eldrazi.

I think you have those backwards. RTR (I was on a break during original Ravnica so I can't comment on that) has a significant amount of standout cards that see at least moderate play in non-Standard formats. Things like Abrupt Decay, Deathrite Shaman, Cyclonic Rift and Rest in Peace come to mind, and I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting. Khans, on the other hand, had a single overpowered mechanic (Delve) that broke Modern and Legacy, Fetchlands, and then a bunch of cards that rotated out of Standard and immediately faded into obscurity. If you want to complain about a set being driven almost entirely by it's land reprints, RTR is the wrong one to be picking on.
That's not to say Khans was a bad set, I quite enjoyed 3x Khans draft and it is legitimately in my Top 3 draft formats of all time, but in terms of lasting impact or desirability of non-land cards in the set, Khans falls flat in comparison to RTR.
Also, they have stated several times they didn't need Ravnica to reprint the shocks. The shocks are generically named such that lands by those names could exist on any plane. They could have put shocks in Ixalan. They could have put shocks in DOM+M19. If they for some reason chose to put other lands in Ravnica they could have still put Shocks in the next sets on the next planes. It's not as though the return to Ravnica gave them a new opportunity they didn't have before.
On the artwork, I think the new Steam Vents looks interesting, but I'm not sure it really conveys the land properly. If someone showed me that artwork without the frame I'd think it was a new Rooftop Storm promo due to the lightning. The new Watery Grave is okay, but it looks more like a plain old aqueduct. The Gatecrash version looks to have at least a body floating in the water, and the original looks like it has some bones in it to suggest that someone died there.
Overgrown Tomb looks absolutely spot on, albeit with a ton of worshipers around it. I think that particular shock has been consistently good on the artwork for it across all three printings.
Sacred Foundry looks like a huge miss given the prior two had an anvil theme. The new one does look like a foundry, but because it gave up the hammer and anvil motif of the older ones it feels less religious and more practical. The Guild Symbol is kind of lost in the shrunk down artwork, which doesn't help a whole lot.
Return to Ravnica is still the winner on Temple Garden, but the other two are still really fetching. The newest one has a bit of whimsy to it like a storybook castle, while the original is more classic architecture and gives a good sense of age.

I find it hard to explain what I don't like about the new Steam Vents. The art is visually appealing, and does a good job of selling Izzet, but as you said I don't think it really jives with what I've come to expect from Steam Vents. I'm willing to give it a pass though because with the art and the flavor text together I find myself liking it significantly more than if I was just looking at the artwork.
I'm always glad for another printing of these. They have become associated with Ravnica at this point, so all the creativity can be saved for the rest of the set and other sets can do the new dual land designs.
I feel like I bought a good amount of original Ravnica block and hardly pulled any shocklands (this was before mythics) and then with RTR, I was in a lull from the game so I didn't buy very many packs of that. I'll be glad to see these in a set where there's a better chance of me pulling more than 1 or 2 from my packs.
Steam Vents:
GPT > RTR > GRN
I really love both the first ones, but the new one looks too hard and technical for a land imo. It looks very Izzet, but more like a machine than a place
Temple Garden
RAV > GRN > RTR
The new one is just beautiful, almost as good as the old one. Both are lush and detailed like a Selesnya land should be. The RTR one never sat right with me, it's too symmetrical and trimmed and orderly. It best fits the name, but that's not a priority for me.
Sacred Foundry
RTR > RAV > GRN
The RTR one is one of the few from that block that blows the original out of the water. What's even going on in the new one? It's dark and messy.
Overgrown Tomb
RAV = GRN > RTR
I like all three, and have a hard time deciding between RAV/GRN, but the RTR one is a bit dark and a bit too little landscapey/too literal.

The new one has a very nice motif, and I like that it's very blue, but it looks a bit too polished.
