Watch, this set will sell like hotcakes, and then that is that for shocks. The prices haven't moved in years, still a huge supply, we haven't absorbed RtR. Now in 6 years when they go back again, it won't be worth it to print these. They are done being worth a pack.

Well, I guess I was wrong. I guessed that Wizards would release a new set of dual lands this time around since I figured another go at the shocklands would be kind of stale. (That, and they're still relatively inexpensive, so not printing them again would mean more fodder down the line for future Masters sets.)
I guess that, while I am a bit disappointed seeing another batch of shocklands, I am grateful that the price of these things will absolutely plummet, and virtually everyone will be able to afford a set of these things without breaking the bank.

Interesting that their set numbers put them at the very end of the set, a spot usually occupied by basic lands. Also, it's worth mentioning that there are two spots open between Overgrown Tomb and Temple Garden, since the other three cards are alphabetically after the latter. Are basic lands being moved "outside" the set's base card count?
I'm skeptical as to how much the prices will really drop on these. I think they will still be quite valuable. Art is fine on these, though the Rob Alexander versions will never be matched.

I don't think they're going to drop off by a lot. Consider that Standard legality will increase the demand for them. There are plenty of players who don't have shocklands yet and there's recent precedent (with the KTK fetches) of Standard demand causing a price spike. I think their comparatively higher availability will mean the price doesn't go up as much (and probably goes down overall) but I don't expect it to move all that much.

Good. Dual lands that you need to play the game shouldn't be over $10 a piece. WotC can reprint them until they're cents and I'll still be happy. I can always use more Shocklands.

About time somebody said this about expensive high-demand cards instead of "waaaaahhhh my collection will drop in value waaaahhh".
Then again, the shocklands aren't nearly as much of an edge over other dual lands in casual play as they are in competitive, so I can take or leave them being in the set.

You don't need them, I have 5 Modern decks, only 1 uses them. I have mine, but that's not my care. A set like this should have something exciting, these are boring, nobody is going to get excited to crack a $3 shock, anyone who wanted them could already get them, they were not a barrier to entry, and they are 10 lackluster rare slots. They should have skipped them this time, even if they were in the very next block, they would feel more special for not being the 'only Ravnica and ALWAYS Ravnica' lands. That was the point of giving them generic names at all. If they were going to be exclusive to Ravnica, they should have gotten guild names.

$3 is pretty ambitious. I'd be surprised if they are any lower than $7

Demand is definitely there to drive up the price. I just think the supply of Guilds of Ravnica is going to be through the roof and that these cards, at rare, will be so ubiquitous that they'll become just about as expensive as every other rare land in Standard, which is to say somewhere between $2-$6.

I had the same guess. I really, really didn't think they would do shocklands again. I don't think they even particularly needed the reprint. I'm disappointed here.

I would be thrilled if I opened a shockland in literally every pack of GRN I open for my entire life. If you don't want yours I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands for you.
If you want to complain about stupid reprints, complain about Narcomoeba being upshifted to rare.
i'm bored by these. it was expected, and not creative. they don't need to be reprinted. making them worthless doesn't inspire me to go crack more packs. yeah yeah everyone wants shocks. i heard the same thing about painlands at one point too.
This will make mana in standard pretty decent. The checklands really needed these (or something with the land typing) to keep on trucking. There was a good article on channel fireball about what multicolor decks may pop up due to these now.
The 2 life should be much more palatable without red ruining standard (I hope it doesn't get much - I want a change of pace).
As someone who only needs two of the 5 from this set to complete a playset of each of these (I'm missing way more of hte other 5) I'm very happy to see a reprint. Some of these were getting very pricy. If these didn't get spoiled, hallowed fountain would have shot through the roof in like a week.

This is going to blow your mind: Maybe they are there because they are fun to play with in Standard.... No way!!!
Looks like it is "just" the five guilds represented in GRN. I assume the rest will show up later in the block.
