STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
I defiantly like this better. The creatures aren't too powerful but aren't shaven dragon level of boring.

I wish they would stop introducing cards to standard outside of packs. It bottlenecks local supply if they screw up the power level(nexus of fate). Getting competitive cards locally can become a nightmare if the demand/supply are out of whack (red challenger deck).
If green ramp becomes a thing with Vivian's invocation that Dino is pretty gross.
If there is a recursion theme in the fall set for golgari that vampire could become VERY problematic alongside ravenous chupacabra.
They need to just stop...fill the freaking preconstructed items with standard applicable goodies and stop forcing us into these different products. The fat pack booklets are boarderline useless now.
So if I understand correctly : in China you have 2 planeswaker decks with regional specific standard legal cards, the regular planeswaker decks and the specific cards they have, the welcome deck cards that don't show up in packs, regular boosters, and now this - all standard legal. Wth.
That's a ton of design space being utilized only to attract newer players?
I dislike gift packs, and I also dislike the fact that we get sll these cards that legally and set symbol wise belong to a set, yet can't be found in its boosters. So this gets two thumbs down from me. At least the creatures aren't foil.
What's that new set symbol?

Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
But what if...everyone just gets two basics untapped? Not even a "may" ability--everyone has to at least shuffle.
seems pretty nutty with dead-eye navigator. I suspect it will be more of "look at all the fun things my deck makes you do" type cards that ruins the game by warping it without trying to win. Definitely will be annoying in commander.

I was unbothered by the Gift Pack cards, since with the exception of the Brontodon most of them are marginal and replacement level in Commander and not relevant anywhere else (dinosaurs are so hard up for playable dudes that Brontodon is actually kind of a must-have for the diehard Gishath, Sun's Avatar players).
But those Game Night cards are...a whole different level of annoying.
- Militant Angel is EXTREMELY good in most token decks, angel decks, and knight decks - those labels describe an extraordinary high number of Wx Commander and Casual decks. The fail rate here is 5/6 of stats with a plethora of keywords, across two bodies, for 3WW which is reasonable. In the average multiplayer game this is probably creating 11/12 of stats for that cost which is just bonkers especially alongside any anthems. Geist-honored Monk is played in a lot of decks, and I would consider this nearly always better barring tribal interactions.
- Inspired Sphinx is at least expensive and thus not necessarily an instant upgrade to, say, Sphinx of Uthuun in most Ux blink/bounce/draw/token/skies lists (and Sphinx of Uthuun is itself a bit outclassed in higher powered metas). However, Sphinx Tribal with Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign is again so hard up for playables that this probably is a must-have.
- Rot Hulk is also quite slow, but I'd never want to discount the power of Zombify (at worst) stapled to a 5/5 Menace in an extremely relevant, powerful tribe. I'd consider this a must-have for your average Zombie deck since it's always going to be value and will occasionally be stupid if ramped out early, reanimated itself with a full yard in Varina, Lich Queen, or looped around with Rooftop Storm + recursion engines.
- Avatar of Growth seems bad on the surface, but it is a brilliant group hug card, and in general time has shown that powerful ramp attached to medium bodies is ExtremelyPowerful. This is a very "fair' version of the effect, but I can imagine lots of decks enjoying it.
Silver lining is the decks generally look fun and come with some nice casual cards, so if the price of these 5 cards is high I can buy the box and not feel awful about it.

The Game Night box comes with a much needed Colossal Dreadmaw reprint!
In all seriousness, I actually really like Angler Turtle as a design for commander. Blue can usually only force creatures to attack one at a time (Alluring Siren), with mass attacking being in red's color pie (Call of the Nightly Hunt). The fact that it comes with hexproof means that your seven mana investment into combat shenanigans will stick on the battlefield.
Well, turns out they gave the deck list and... it has nothing to do with Ajani, Bolas or a last stand.
The decks look fine. Very fine. They gave enough value, enough rares that new players would get a nice wow factor, especially in the first few games. Ghalta is new rare dreadmaw.

That angel is the weakest of the cycle. If you didn't ttack it does nothing. It also has the least P/T.
OTOH, Ajani vs Nicol Bolas 2.0. (Maybe it's just a random art and has nothing with the deck content?)
I disagree, I actually think it's the strongest. It fits into token archetypes easily and has 2 relevant abilities in flying and lifelink. It really only takes 2 tokens for it to be a good payoff. On top of that 5 mana is closer tho where you want your value etb cards to be. 6-7 mana should really give you a huge advantage to make it worth casting. Rot Hulk seems like the only one that fits that bill.

Its absolutely atrocious how often they put Ghalta, Primal Hunger in pre-constructed products ...
The amount of cards they print for standard that are not in boosters is a problem, a potentially very serious one that they should absolutely stop doing as soon as possible.
Outside of that, the decks are "fine" in a way that people can just play with them, but they also lack value and will very likely just be major flops for stores that dont have an army of new players available.

I'd upvote this but that seems to do downvotes now? WTH?
I strongly dislike finding cards outside of the standard boosters and that God awful garbage numbering system 255/250... why??? It was tolerable with the precon decks. OK, great, that's an extra few bucks to sink to complete a set. Then the BAB debacle. Now this... ugh... just make it a different set entirely already....

Set symbols are meaningless now. I don't even know anymore the number of different products that are all covered by that set symbol and include cards you cannot get in any of the other products.

[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
I'm not actually upset about the gift box cards being standard legal. I'm actually just annoyed that they're all uncommon-level bulk and yet WOTC presents then as highlights of the product. I know I don't have the same experiences as everyone else but even when I was starting out cards like these just felt really meh. It would make a lot note sense, anyhow, for WOTC to make their promos in products like these desirable for both new and experienced players. They don't have to be amazing, just decent in the grand scheme of things. Maybe cards that would be fun in commander, at a casual table, or in the brawl format WOTC wants to push. I just don't know who they're trying to excite with these.
Those Game Night cards look pretty cool on the flip side.

The angel is playable, the vampire is all upside, but really costly, the turtle might be useful depending on your build, the dino isn't bad but that phoenix is probably the worst of all its kind. No haste, no other abilities other than flying and the phoenix recursion we're all used to.
I really dislike all these "exclusive" cards that a) can't be obtained regularly and b) sometimes are and sometimes aren't legal in Standard but all have the symbol of a Standard-legal set on them.
(Well, I guess MaRo can say whatever he wants about Dinosaurs not being new Green iconic creature type, I dont care)
