How large is this poster? I thought it would've been a little bigger than indicated. I ordered one as well.
It's the standard size you would expect for a normal poster, really. The issue with it is that the individual images are a little less than a square inch apiece, which makes details blurry.
I guess I'll see it today since it'll be coming in.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
With the art, that we have and don't have... I don't think we will see Elspeth in Standard soon. I think it is most likely, that we will see her with Garruk and Saheeli in Commander, while the others are SCDD and first Ravnica - and with no Vraska that maybe means she isn't the Guild leader of the Golgari?
Elspeth requires a pretty big story event to get a new card (what with being dead and all), I highly doubt that will be relegated to a supplemental set. I also don't think that we can necessarily say that a character not having art on the poster means they won't be getting a new card in the near future.
At first I thought Teferi was on Tarkir as the setting looked Abzan/Dromoka. But now I’m not so sure.
I’m excited to see Elspeth and Tamiyo again.

I would like to see a Serra deck for sure, but it wouldn't make that much sense to have cards from Ravnica on the poster, while Commander 18 has none (at least if there will be Planeswalkers as we mostly think) and I am pretty sure, that the decks will have a theme like all the others had too. So if they do Serra, they will do more characters from Magic's past and we don't see any indications, that there is any new Image for that. If they do use actual Walkers, I can pretty easy see Elspeth as one of them. I wouldn't really like it, as it would mean, that we could be far away from her return or they will write some story about actual Walkers, without having to spend a Standard set on them, so we could do other stuff, if we went to Theros, as there is so much going on, that could be told and wouldn't fit in one or two sets.
The problem with Theros are the Gods. 14 or 15 of them across two sets is a lot and impossible over one set.

I could see Theros having a Masterpiece enchantment series which includes the original multicolored gods, allowing the main set to focus on the monocolored ones.

Maro mentioned he felt it was a mistake to have all 15 gods at mythic so I could see them only have the big 5 as mythic and the 9 (10) others as rare.

Jace is from Vryn, but is on Ravnica gathering forces. It is possible with his memories returned he could have Mage-Rings built on Ravnica as part of the trap for Bolas, and Karn could be in charge of overseeing that project. They did play a part in the battles on Vryn.
If that is Elspeth, that would be pretty cool. But, if this is planeswalker art, that means that her spark would still be intact, and she could be somewhere trying to either figure out how to get around Erebos or gathering something for Erebos.
I just hope Tezzeret doesn't die with the Planar Portal knowledge on Ravnica.
Does he know much about the Mage Rings? I mean Jace is no master artificer and I don't remember if he learned much about their construction. Assuming he did though he is on the clock doesn't seem he have enough time to commission such a large project certainly not quick enough and quietly enough that Ral Zarek, Agent of Bolas would miss it.
Timing would be an issue, but I am sure with plenty of planeswalkers around, he can get something together. When they did the stories for "Origins" it was hinted that Al-Hammaret may have wiped Jace's memories on more than one occassion, as well as Jace doing it to himself. But during Ixalan, all of his memories returned including the ones of his home for the first time. Al-Hammaret had an extensive base of knowledge and Jace was his apprentice. They worked both sides of the fight with that information for more information and profit in return. The Mage-Rings are used for focusing mana and funneling it where you want it, and that sounds super useful in a fight.
More likely, they track down that Godsend and use it to cut down Heliod and any other God that gets in their way. But Heliod especially deserves it.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
You make a good point you would assume either Gideon or Elspeth goes Dark Side as result of Evil Sword and Underworld Trip. But both of them picking up Black on a regular basis would be weird even with Sorin out of the picture. Granted we got three walkers bouncing around Naya Colors and another one who is RG so supersaturation might not be an issue.
Kaya and Dack Fayden, I doubt they do too much anytime soon.
I could see Tezz taking Karn's Place as the Father of Machines...or a Consort to Elesh Norn. Give the Gatewatch more of stake cause if you are not KOTH or Dominarian the Phyrexians have a weak connection.
Seems weird not to have Ugin around for the Fall of Bolas as they are twins.
I am curious on who Ajani recruited. Jace technically recruited Vraska. While Gideon and Chandra bumbled there way into Teferi, Karn and Jaya.
How many walkers are going to be in Ravnica block? Seems like they are adding way more to the roster than could possibly fit in the three sets, even if it's a given that many of them won't get cards:
Jace
Vraska
Chandra
Gideon
Liliana
Tezzeret
Nicol Bolas
Karn
Teferi
Jaya Ballard
Ajani
Tamiyo
Narset
Vivien
Sarkhan
Ral Zarek
We could conceivably also see Domri Rade and Ugin, even though their art has not been released yet.
Granted, the above list will be slimmed down to those PWs who haven't received new cards in awhile (plus Tamiyo, who we already know to be on Ravnica from the poster art), but then there are things like Gideon now wielding the Blackblade, which many players would love to see represented as a card, and that could only happen during the block before Bolas gets shanked with it (we all know it's inevitably going to happen).
I brought this up previously in the baseless speculation forum, but I think there is a real chance of there being a planeswalker-themed Masterpiece series for Ravnica. There are 60+ different cards covering the above planeswalkers -- not even covering the new cards in M19 or the Ravnica block itself (so another 13-14, or another 24-25, if you include the Planeswalker deck cards). That's more than enough for a Masterpiece series, even if they were to exclude cards based on flavor or because they were PW deck cards. I mean, they've made such a big deal in the story about how Bolas is making a "trap for planeswalkers", so it would make sense that if they were going to do a Masterpiece series for the set, it would be about something with Planeswalkers.
I wish the new Jace art didn't have him hooded. The whole peering from beneath the hood with glowy eyes look is pretty tired. He's a handsome mage, I'd love to see his face. Cunning Castaway is my favorite Jace art.
Tamiyo and Ral looking great.
Elspeth isn't holding Xenagos's staff. She's on the river banks of the underworld, with those lit torches / lanters from the artwork of the Theros card Rescue from the Underworld. I love that her art references this card, since it's one of my favorites (and among the most flavorful cards) from Theros.
Karn isn't on Vryn but could on on Ravnica or Theros, recruiting Elspeth against NP.
I could see Tezz taking Karn's Place as the Father of Machines...or a Consort to Elesh Norn. Give the Gatewatch more of stake cause if you are not KOTH or Dominarian the Phyrexians have a weak connection.
"Consort"?...Ugh, I do not want to think of that.
But I could see Tezzeret's Planar Bridge playing a role in extending Phyrexia's threat to other worlds. Innistrad comes to mind; they've done Gothic Horror and Cosmic Horror, now it's time for Sci-Fi Horror.

Love that Ral Zarek art. Is it just me, or does JAce's face look awkward in this new art? And come on already, stop with the hooded art for him already.
I honestly hope they kill of some planeswalkers, or have them lose their spark. I’m wanting this so we can bring back walkers they haven’t made in a while, like Sorin, Ashiok, garruk. Idk who is actually dead since I started reading they story around ixilan. I’m hoping they kill of Bolas and let someone else be the villain, or an entire plaine like how Karn wants to blow up phyrexia
Or not have a reverse flash, bolas, and give us others to create the “rouges” of mtg

Sorin was not that long ago, just Shadows Over Innistrad. And I kind of doubt that we will see them killing off/desparking Planeswalkers.
I wonder: Could it be that Elspeth's mask won't behave like normal Returned masks since it's forged from Godsend? Maybe it will allow her to defy the usual loss of memory and identity that occurs when one becomes Returned?

Sure, there is a chance of spending $4 on a booster and getting the Mythic Rare $30 super card. There is also a chance of surviving putting your tongue in a light socket.
