I must confess though, Lattice seems out of place in this set. It’s a very artifact centric card, thus far I don’t see that trend in Battlebond.
Well, it is supposed to be a sports arena with multiple fields. I’d say it fits from a flavor perspective. And honestly, it fits flavorfully as a mythic too if you think about it. How many people do you want having control over the make-up of the battlefield.
I’d say it’s -
#Justified.
A justifiable 'reprint', for sure, though if its flavor is about shifting battlefield, Zoetic Cavern might be here too?
Hey man, with this set, I don’t think I’d be willing to rule anything out. It’s been flat out bonkers.
This is weirding me out. I mean it's really good that there's so many good cards being reprinted, but no set is this good. Where's the Crap Rare Reprints? Are there any crap Rare Reprints?
This is exactly what I'm thinking. Like, why is this set so good? Did Wizards just suddenly realize what their players have wanted all along, or did they really feel like they needed something awesome in order to actually sell a two-headed giant set?
So it's 16 mythics then?
Can i hope for 20 or we already had enough miracles?
But it's official. This set has no junk rares. Buy the ***** out of this set guys, because wizard need to know that WE WANT THIS
Cue them in attributing the set's success to 2HG being "wildly popular and one of the most played formats" and giving us Battlebond 2 with not even half the goodies in this set.
I feel like the value in this set, while excellent, was less an intentional thing on WotC's part than a byproduct of the set was essentially finished 2 years ago. I would wager if you looked at prices 2 years ago half of these good value rares were considered jank or didn't have near the value then that they do now.
I didn't look anything up and it's just a feeling... but this set doesn't fit their MO.
Can someone tell me what you can use this card for?
I remember when it was first spoiled many, many years ago and no one wanted the card because it didn’t do anything.
What does it do, now?
In EDH there's a fairly nasty win with this, Darksteel Reactor and Nevinryl's disk. Also, artifact heavy decks tend to be able to ramp in out quickly. Arcum Dagson and his tutoring can have this online stupid early.
Not sure if that's where all of the 25$+ value is coming from.

It also makes it easy to blow up everyone's lands (Karn, Silver Golem), or to just blow up everything else in general (Vandalblast).
I didn't realize this card had become so expensive. It's cool and all, but I guess I underestimated the community's response to this card in particular. Battlebond, as others have said, looks pretty freakin' cool though.
So let's stick a fork in Masters sets. They're done.

Can you name all of the creature types with at least 20 cards? Try my Sporcle Quiz! Last Updated: 6/29/20 (Core Set 2021).
Noob question, but the last ability, "Players may spend mana as though it were mana of any color," I feel like I'm misunderstanding. Does that mean players can now tap, say, any combination of five basic lands (GGGBB for instance) to cast a spell that otherwise costs WUBRG? Seems like that'd be pretty useful in five color decks, on its own.
Also, looking through the total value of recent sets (the value of every card in the set added up), it looks like standard sets usually average somewhere between $150 - $200, at least for sets released in the last 8 years or so. Dominaria is currently around $300+, being the exception of recent sets. Masters 25 total value is around $500+, so it is more than double the value of a typical standard set, just feels like more of a lottery due to the higher booster pack price. I'm curious where the total value of this set will fall, but it's definitely looking like it will be closer to the range of a Masters set.

I went to MTGStocks.com and at the beginning of 2016, the lattice was averaging around $19. Wizards probably was targeting mid-priced Commander-friendly staples to reprint, and they were probably expecting the price to go up steadily anyway. I agree with you that they were probably picking "good" but not "really good" rares.
Not sure if that's where all of the 25$+ value is coming from.
It's a fairly unique effect; sometimes, you can make due with Liquimetal Coating, but the vast majority of the time, you need Lattice specifically. Plus, this is the first time it's been reprinted in the 14 years since Darksteel. Lack of supply is also playing a big factor here.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Am I the only one who's annoyed at all the EDH fanboys calling every jank rare in this set "great"?
I've seen pretty much nothing in this set that gets me excited, except for True Name Nemesis and some uncommons...
And even diabolic intent is in this and it's just rare. That only a start of what incredible reprints are in this, another case and point to why conspiracy and now battlebond do better reprints in the sets than master sets.

They needed a gimmick to help sell the set, this is why there are Partner Commanders and solid reprints in the set. It is not that different than borderless lands from Unstable.

Seeing all those listed together makes me really, really excited!

You're doing the exact thing I was talking about. I mean, the only cards you mentioned that are even somewhat playable in a real format are Tidespout Tyrant and Kor Spiritdancer. Anyway, sorry for being a Debby Downer y'all. I'm just not digging this set, AT ALL.
Conspiracy was definitely better if you ask me. Exploration, Dack Fayden, Council's Judgment, Pernicious Deed, Stifle, Misdirection, yes please!
Hate to break it to you but EDH is one of the most popular formats in Magic. It is more real than some "real" formats (like Legacy and Vintage).

True story, first time I’ve ever used a #hashtag.
Agree, maybe Hellkite Tyrant at rare?

Finally a "reprint" set that has decent reprints and a price point for a pack actually worth getting.
This is the stuff that Masters dreams are made of.

Elspeth and Jhoira rock my world.
Only 4 are jank rares for buying a box
There's three more rares in this needed a reprints are war's toll, magmatic force and nyxathid
But really mana echos should have Ben a rare though and the same can be said for rhystic study
It really seems out of place because Kylem is such a lighthearted plane, considering the Lattice is just another symptom of Mirrodin's ultimate fate.
I'll give you a strong but fair thing to do with the lattice and a busted thing to do with the lattice.
Token decks like it with Aura Shards, Nullmage Shepherd, and Martyr's Bond.
Now, for the busted one? Null Rod
