Okay, the card isn't actually called "Let's get ready to Fumble". That's a relief.
Cool card, and very flavorful. It's almost a shame it returns the creature to the hand, since removing the equipment/auras could give you a chance to kill it in combat.
Holy cow, you could actually use this defensively to save a creature of yours (like Bruna, Light of Alabaster) while keeping all the aura onto another creature, either yours or your teammate's.
I consider this a better Grip of Phyresis. I guess it doesn't hit protection and hexproof creatures, but you could steal more from your opponent.
What if you have no creatures and all they have is a Batterskull on a Germ token and a True-Name Nemesis with your name on it? You're stuck putting the Batterskull on their TNN or just plain not casting Fumble. At least you can fully claim their Batterskull with Grip of Phyresis.
Who in their right mind would cast Fumble in that situation? You’d make them pay the five to equip it every time. You’d wait till you had a creature to attach stuff to.

This card seems like it could be decent in commander, the sad part is a lot of the equipment in commander is boots, so a lot of the time it won't have a secondary effect. That being said, those times you steal a Sword of Feast and Famine or a Helm of the Host is going to be pretty great.
I think one of the more interesting uses for it is bouncing an arrested/pacified creature you control and then moving the aura onto their creature. Vulshok Battlemaster and Armory Automaton seem pretty hilarious with it too I suppose.
Most auras people run are meant to protect their duder from things like this, so its really going to be cast in response and is just a bounce spell. The same for equipment. Sure there'll be omfg surprise moments, but most of the time its going to be "equip sword of fire and ice?" And "response"
As a non-english speaker, can someone explain to me the name of this card please?
In gridiron sports specifically (American/Canadian/Australian football) a fumble means dropping the ball under conditions where the opposing team can take possession of it.
In a general sense, it just means to make a mistake or an error of physical clumsiness.
So, we already have Out of Bounds, now this. I hope we get Illegal Procedure, Unnecessary Roughness, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, and Play Under Review/Instant Replay too name a few. There are a lot of good, potential names associated with stadium sports.
I consider this a better Grip of Phyresis. I guess it doesn't hit protection and hexproof creatures, but you could steal more from your opponent.

Yes, thank you for finding the most niche, corner-case situation. Kinda like how Shock is better than Lightning Bolt when you're getting Mindslavered and you've got nothing but 3 toughness creatures in play.
I mean, you could've just pointed out that many popular equips give hexproof or shroud, so targeting the equipment is more reliable than targeting the creature, but, no, it's fine; your example's way better.

So, basically, where you see equipment, it shores up weaknesses, or it has niche value.
Auras have some niche value in enchantress/Voltron, and a few other uses (e.g., Freed from the Real infinite combos) but that's about it. You do see "bad" auras (e.g., Pacifism) because Sun Titan. Actually, you could bounce your own creature and put said auras on opponents' creatures.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

It's not that corner case when both Batterskull and True-Name Nemesis are commonly played in Legacy--often in the same deck. I could replace TNN with Stoneforge Mystic, but TNN is funnier because it has protection from YOU but is still a valid creature to have your equipment forcibly attached to.
Batterskull being able to bounce itself for 3 mana is the bigger problem, but I've seen Grip of Phyresis several times in Legacy sideboards.

That's fair. I never thought of either Fumble or Grip of Phyresis having any chance of being played in Legacy to begin with... but then, I don't play Legacy.
I just messaged a link to this card to a friend of mine, saying how much it missed the mark. It's like it was designed to fail. Rule #1 of Voltron is Hexproof.

While this will attach the Betterskull I'm pretty sure it would then immediately fall off when state based actions are checked, since this gives you control over the Batterskull and True-name can't be equipped by things you control. Not that shis interaction is the most important factor in rating this card.
But yeah seams more of a card for RDH, casual and possibly cube (and I'm not an expert on legacy). I do also like the corner case of bouncing one of your opponents creatures with a pacifism, or similar aura, to move it to a new more powerful creature that they just played.

Since you gain control of the equipment, True Name Nemesis can't have the equipment attached to it (It's the E of DEBT: Damage, Enchanted/Equipped, Blocking, and Targeting). So while you don't get the free equip off Fumble in that situation, you still have stolen their Batterskull free and clear.
