So far a lot of cards have been enemy-colored. Maro said there's a reason for the land cycle being allied colors once again, and I'm really starting to wonder what it is.
My guess is you'll want to split up the enemy-colored partners between you and your ally, so you'll want to have your respective decks be Ally colored. I mean, sure, in single player draft you'd want a way to play your enemy colored partners together. But this set is literally designed for 2hg. Thus, it's more likely that people will build ally colored decks.

The idea is each teammate plays an ally colour deck. which is why they need ally duals the teammates will be playing decks that are enemy colours of each other. One card finds it's partner in your teammates deck. They aren't designed to be played in the same deck. (except for commander)
Gavin's article on the mothership today said explicitly this, yes. The draft archetypes are ally-colored (with ally gold cards and themes), while all of the partner with cards specifically are enemy-colored to encourage you to split them between two players.

On average, Magic players are worse at new card evaluation than almost every other skill, except perhaps sideboarding.

That actually sounds really neat. So between the two team pairs you'll cover four different colors (presumably) which each would have two different enemy colors in them. And it would make sense as you'd be able to help your partner search for cards.

So it's harder to play the two members of an enemy-colored pair of partners both in the same deck. That way you encourage putting the partner into the deck of the other player of your team.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

Have they explained why they didn't word it as "target player search their library for X and put it into their hand" like most spells are templated? (i.e search your library for basic land card and put it into your hand and such. For example sylvan scrying)
Soulblade Corrupter vs. Mer-Ek Nightblade - sure, one works for a teammate, but the other gives your blockers deathtouch. I was about to comment about the legend not being that great when I double-checked and saw they weren't legendary. Not really a fan of non-legendary partners; it flies in the face of "Partner" as the mechanic was originally designed.

They have mentioned that the reminder text is just shorthand, but the ability just works like the usual effect, so you can assume the reason behind it is text length. I mean look at those text boxes. They're quite full with just the shortened text.

Keep in mind, this can't be a commander, but the search function is nice. Are all the partners enemy colors? I mean, it would make more sense to have allied colors.
(There's actually a lot of virgin territory here, as with all multiplayer design space.)

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Probably saving it for Battlebond 2. Five Legendary Creature Enemy Pairs, One Planeswalker Pair, and Five Creature Enemy Pairs. Keeping it enemy focused to encourage ally decks with each of them having the pair. Battlebond 2 does the reverse. Probably White/Green for the Planeswalker pair if that happens, just to hit the most different design space, and enemy colored lands to encourage the reverse for enemy pairs.
You can't use non-legendary partners as commanders. Yes, it's weird, but it's like that.
Oh right I had missed Tabak's FAQ about it. Super, super weird...
Which is a great reason not to include the reminder text about commander rules for "partner with". That way the reminder text is consistent within the set.

I wonder how much Battlebond action I'm actually going to see. I like 2HG, but drafting it seems like a hard sell.
