Wow feels like every Voltron or Equipment deck in EDH is gonna want this... It doesn't even exile the copy of your dude at the end of the turn. Actually this has a lot of applications across many EDH strategies. Wow. Crazy card.
Equip this on Gonti, Lord of Luxury. It'll be fun to be able to get a free card off the opponent's top deck.
I already do that with Blade of Selves..but another trigger on Gonti is always welcome.
Difference is the token stays and it has deathtouch which makes it trade removal fodder. Either are good.
Yeah but Myraid gets you 2 procs a turn in a 4 player game, though this might be easier to go infinite with steal a way to get infinite combat steps..and you can live the dream of Gonting someone to death.
Wow. I might have applications in a casual deck for this, and I’m probably one of the least pleasable players around these parts for Wizards to please. I might want foils of this.
You equip Aurelia with that and i'm pretty sure you win the game on the spot.
If i'm not reading it wrong you could kill the entire table with the tokens.

Yup, same goes for Combat Celebrant in standard. Blockers don't even matter unless they have first strike, indestructible, or a damage prevention ability because you'll kill everything else eventually.
You know the bazillion mana price tag on a card is justified when its harder to imagine situations where it isn't absurd than those when it is. Like...any Gearhulk. Any Titan. Any...thing. Even in Limited it will just take over the game in a matter of turns. Perhaps even turn, singular.
Usually, I'd look at the CMC and equip cost and immediately issue a hard pass on the card. But if I was in the market to spend a table full of mana on an equipment card, this is the kind of effect I'd be trying to buy.

The funny thing is that when I saw this card, it didn't look like much to fuss about at first glance because of the mana cost and equip cost, until I realized that the token isn't legendary and doesn't disappear.
On an unrelated note, I hope the Vesuvan queen comes out in something (if not in this set) as a shapeshifter lord.

Lol, was thinking how the Cabal armors look similar to those of the Necromongers from Chronicles of Riddick... then I see this helm art which resembles Lord Marshal's helm from the same movie
Does this go infinite with Kiki-Jiki? Since the new token won't be legendary?
Sure, go ham with it. You'll need a third piece to make it actually do anything, but an infinite number of tapped Kiki-Jikis is certainly an option.
Godo as your commander suddenly saying "10R: Win the game." is probably the single most busted application of the card, but it might be easier to list the things it doesn't break. I would not be surprised if this ends up eventually banned in Commander for accidentally taking over games; even if you aren't going infinite, an extra copy of any strong CIP ability (and a body) every turn is amazing value, and Commander just loves its CIPs.

if you use this on a legendary, it makes a non-legendary token.... but the original legendary creature still dies, right? checks name?
Nope, legendary permanents only care if there's another legendary permanent with the same name (Rule 704.5j). Otherwise Jace, Cunning Castaway's ultimate would suck pretty bad.

Art student, EDH lover and a strong believer that Delver has the best design in all of MTG.

Also great with Sheoldred, Whispering One, or most any Praetor that isn't Urabrask.
With a little setup, Iona, Shield of Emeria could lock your opponents out for good.

Equip to Kiki-Jiki, get non-legendary copy of him, tap to copy the token, tap to copy token, tap to copy token, ad inifinitum.
Looks solid to me.
