Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Karn looks badass, and Muldrotha looks like she's got the potential to be a powerful commander. As for Darigaaz... I really want to do something with him, as the original Igniter was the first legendary card I ever owned (back when I'd randomly open booster packs as a kid, before being away from the game for over 15 years), so yeah, the very idea of crafting a deck around a card named "Darigaaz" has sentimental value for me. Unfortunately, however, he doesn't look like he'd amount to much, he's a big fast beater who can play around the commander tax, but that's about it: meh, it's really hard to be a Jund-colored dragon in a format where Prossh exists
Darigaaz the Igniter was the first Rare I ever pulled, I still have it in my Scion of the Ur dragon deck..This new one might actually replace it after being in my Legendary Dragon deck since the first days of me playing magic, I am not sure it will make the cut though..being able to slam someone after they just drew half their deck is a lovely toolbox effect.
This new Karn still disgusts me, I hate it so, SO much. Seriously, I hate that card more than anything else they have come out with, maybe since I started playing, it's just blasphemy to call it Karn.
Otoh, Muldrotha looks neat, not sure where it would go, but casting any card you want from the graveyard is never a bad effect to have. Maybe a stall plan to get there, some Dredge, then use it for any number of combos?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
It's definitely nice that Muldrotha is "play" rather than "cast" so that you can at least play a land from your graveyard as soon as it hits the battlefield. I do wonder if it can see standard play because untapping with it seems pretty darn good.
When that Dominaria trailer came out with the really ugly KPT Bryce Karn, I was hoping--praying--that the art used for this planeswalker wasn't that art...but it is. That is depressing. I love the card, but I might have to blindfold myself when I cast it, because it looks ugly.

If it's the flavour, then I don't see the issue since Karn has created robots before, and the silver counter thing is a reference to his silver allowing him to time travel. If it's the fact that he's pretty pushed, then I can see why that would be a cause for concern. Either way, I don't see how it's "blasphemy" to call it Karn.
Muldrotha certainly is a "kill on sight" kind of commander. It falls in the same category as Atraxa for me, i.e. "commanders I hate because they just provide too much value".

I have to agree with you there. My initial impression of this is that it's the most easily broken Sultai commander since Leovold. Tasigur is strong for sure, but he loses efficacy with the larger a game gets. The value that Muldrotha is going to generate with self-mill is going to give the player 2 hands to work with. Being able to play up to: a land, a creature, an artifact, an enchantment and a planeswalker from your GY every one of your turns means that the games will very quickly get away from those against this. Fetches, Strip Mines, Fleshbag Marauders, Mindslicer, Mindslaver, etc. Not being able to exile problematic cards only delays the inevitable return of the same issue.
It's like Meren and Blue had an even nastier baby, and now it's absurd and will be difficult to out-value.
What's that thing in the back of the Muldrotha art? A tail?
It's most likely one of the Thran ruins that appeared out of nowhere and apparently litter Dominaria's landscape now.
I'm kind of on the fence about them so far. They almost feel like afterthoughts in most of the images where they appear in.
Muldratha seems strong. It seems pretty easy to get both land and creature in EDH and anything else can likely be achieved with a bit of creativity. It will certainly be a great general.
I think the only non excellent thing about Karn is you have a wait a whole turn before getting the other cards. Otherwise he can be played anywhere, protects himself (especially if built around), has a high starting loyalty and provides a good amount of card advantage.
Darigaaz honestly looks as much like Ganon with wings as he does a dragon. He even comes back later like a true eternal source of hate. Art aside, he is a huge beater, but three turns is a very long time. Cool timmy card though.

It's none of those, least of all being pushed, he's weak and boring to my eyes. the original Walker card was amazing, a level of busted that was fitting for a former god, he could lay waste, and he worked perfectly with the Urza lands, which was a huge flavor win. Karn is an 8 foot tall metal titan, he's not supposed to be some midrange friendly 4 drop that any deck can play and it gains steady but relatively slow advantage. Karn is supposed to carry and just BE the biggest stick around. have his plus be something with creating beefy robots, have some suitably powerful time silver themed ability, it's just that he's more of a Jund card than Tron, he's so much weaker than last time. Ugin was a MUCH better Karn than this.
And before you say something about how not every Karn has to be made for Tron, I disagree. the flavor in this set is amazing, to have the greatest creation of Urza not have a home in the deck with URZA lands is just a huge fail. make him cost nine and when he drops, he could drop kick this one into the nearest star.

I wasn't going to mention Tron.
I was going to say that Wizards has pointed out before that the planeswalker cards are basically snapshots of those walkers at various points in time. The cards don't illustrate all of the abilities those walkers have, lest they'd have a dozen loyalty abilities and be costed so highly that they'd be unplayable.
Karn at this point in time isn't trying to be a walking weapon of mass destruction (at least not yet anyway). He has abilities that are still in theme for the silver golem, but toned down.
Also, gameplay-wise, this card is anything but weak (and I'm not just referring to Standard), and "boring" is a subjective descriptor that people often use to describe something they don't like.
Seems to come from wpn.wizards.com. Can't access the page.

Muldrotha is a "child" of Multani. Kinda cool.
