Wow, I love the aesthetics of it. And great flavor text. In EDH, it seems like Inalla, Archmage Overlord is always better, though. Is there anything cool you can do with this in Modern?
I definitely want to make a deck with this guy and all the Battlemages from Planeshift. (e.g., Thornscape Battlemage)
Naban is like Panharmonicon--wizards with etb triggers will trigger themselves an extra time. Champion of Wits becomes "draw 2, discard 2, draw 2, discard 2" (or 4, 2, 4, 2 if eternalized), Reflector Mage becomes "bounce 2 creatures", and so Snapcaster Mage will target two instants or sorceries in your graveyard.
I trigger my Wizards' ETBs four times by paying 1, because why not.
Only if she's on the field, she's not a permanent in your command zone
Hmm.........
If you have Inalla in the command zone, and Naban on board:
1.) Merchant of Secrets enters and triggers twice thanks to Naban.
2.) You pay 1 to copy Merchant with Inalla's Eminence.
3.) The copy "enters" and triggers twice thanks to Naban.
4.) You draw 4 cards total with the double triggers of both Merchants.

Naban, just like Panharmonicon, only copies triggers from permanents you control. Inalla, while in the command zone, is not a permanent you control. She must actually be in play for panharmonicon or Naban to affect her trigger.

Edit: I love that the flavor text indicates the idea here is not that HE is doubling the effect but teaching them to do what they do but more.

Wizharmonicon. So close. I feel like you were almost there. Do it again.

So yeah, four times. Replace Merchant with Snapcaster Mage, Sea Gate Oracle, Dualcaster Mage, Bloodline Necromancer, Archaeomancer, etc, and you can potentially drown your opponents in card advantage.

You still need about 20 more good ETB effects on wizards for it to matter.
