first of all: the problem with things like printing errors and manufacture mistakes is that people think they are much more common than they really are. nobody makes a youtube video or a reddit post when they open a completely normal pack of magic cards, so looking online will give you the impression that these occurrences are much more frequent than they really are.
that having been said this specific occurrence is very strange. it could be random chance. the only way to find out is to open more boxes in this manner. it's kind of strange to me that after opening two identical boxes he didn't decide to open a third. that seems like the natural thing to do, especially considering rudy isn't the sort of person who is likely to be drafting with these cards.
the reality is that magic cards aren't truly randomized. true randomization in a production process is hard to create. the order of cards in packs and boxes has some amount of predetermination. in addition to being sorted by rarity, packs have a measured mix of creatures and spells as well. the amount of each color which appears in a pack is also probably somewhat moderated. (i've certainly never seen somebody open a pack that only contained cards of a single color and with true randomization that unlikely occurrence would eventually happen) this degree of predetermination doesn't completely account for opening 24 packs with the same rares but it does give some insight in to how this could have happened. perhaps there are only ~10,000 possible rare combinations per box? that would be enough combinations that you could safely assume nobody would ever buy two boxes and get the same set but still make it statistically possible.
if each box contained 21 rares (mythics are about 1/8) and they were 100% randomized the number of possible combinations would be ~300,000,000,000,000.
People are aware magic isn't truely random, and I think wizards are open about that (I know MaRo has mentioned it on his podcast a number of times) the issue is howrandom they are. If boxes are poorly randomised it becomes much easier to map and there is not alot stopping someone walking into there local store (LGS or Big Retailer) and grabbing the good boosters and taking them to the counter.
It could be a 1/100000 chance or it could be a 1/10, but until Wizards comment on how randomised the boxes are it hurts consumer confidence.
There seems to be a store in London that opened up 8 boxes to eventually find out that they have no issues, video. Is it all variance after all? Likely?
Wouldn't it be pretty ironic, if overreacting consumers were the ones hurting consumer confidence.

It was a suporter’s box (actualy 2) he even said on vídeo.
The only time i saw hin oppening a box for himself was recently (5 m) on a Modern Masters 1 box so he could sell the simgles. The guy buy cards to make profit, he buys and sells old sealled product.
I think He must be way more upset about this, cause his pantreons will likely not buy single masters 25 boxes and for hin to make a sell on ebay he will probably have to sell the sealed case or ask the capital god for the cards to hold value.
As a programmer (well, a wannabe programmer) I can testify that TRUE randomization is literally impossible to achieve.
False. True random is impossible with software alone, but there are a lot of systems that use a specialized piece of hardware to generate truly random bits, or a truly random seed for a more traditional PRNG. random.org uses atmospheric noise, for example, and roll20.net uses fluctuations in a laser.
Rudy claimed the same thing for Conspiracy 2 and that didn't pan out. Also no one else has supported the claim yet.
If we don't get independent confirmation by Friday I'm locking the thread
I'll probably go ask some of the guys on reddit to see if they had anything. I've watched a few more box openings (a few of them cringe worthy), and it seems like it is limited to only a certain number of boxes. This is sounding more like there was some screw up with a shipment and the rest is probably okay. Even Rudy sent out a notice that the other boxes seem to be okay.
Also, I've seen a lot of people throw around the conspiracy 2 box opening video, but it really wasn't comparable to the masters box opening as it was limited to a very low number of cards. I'm one of his patrons and tend to follow him a lot so I'll admit he can be a sensationalist at times, but the best youtube personalities always are.

the problem is that 1/10 can look just like 1/1,000,000 if you only have a sample size of 1.
and for the sake of discussion i'm pretty sure the randomization is based on the order of printing sheets rather than the cards being randomized after being cut. so each print run has something like 1000 different sheet arrangements and those arrangements are what create the randomization. it would be neat for wotc to talk more about their printing process and given the recent hiccups it would probably make people more sympathetic to the challenges they face.
The randomization may or may not be a problem BUT the printing QUALITY IS an issue.
Kaladesh was terrible, some faded washed out cards, some looking like double Bold printing. Iconic has the same problem with super bold typing on some cards and ink spots and it seems it will be an issue with A25. That is something WOTC could and SHOULD get a handle on. Its very noticeable and some cards even appear and feel fake straight from the boosters.

I am tired of this person, his lies, his constant bashing against the game, he has no evidence of any of this 'randomization' problem. He is just viralizing his content at the expense of the consumer confidence with the product. He promotes conspiracy-thinking in the player base. He can't support with evidence his claims, as much as he can't source any of his ''rumors''.

This is mostly a case where he did a video that was more so sensationalist and then did one that wasn't. Basically, it's the boy who cried wolf situation and now that their is a legitimate problem people who aren't necessarily following his video content regularly or are linked into his patreon page to get updates think he lies and makes fake videos. If boxes ended up all having their order not randomized sufficiently it hits him just as much as anyone else since he owns an LGS, which he started up as part of a video series showing the costs and such for running one. When boxes are mappable by hand like that they are basically worthless to players as they can be easily tampered with by unsavory types and repacked.

evidence= 20 minutes video of 2 boster boxes openings...
And 10 hour later he did another unboxing and the boxes where ok...
Yes, I did. That's not evidence, its a video with two boxes. You can't claim an entire product line is wrong because you found a coincidence (assuming the video is actually true) Thats not how you demonstrate facts.
Anecdotal evidence is NOT UNIVERSAL evidence. And so far his claim has been debunked. So no we shouldn't be talking about this, neither his toxic content.
He promotes a kind of ambient I personally dislike a lot. Recently he uploaded a video criticizing the She or He change to They as unnecessary, while claiming that this kind of focus on those details is not what the game needs but a good gaming experiences. The comments where full of LGBTQ hate messages and all kinds of conspiracy-like positions in where wizards is pandering SJW ideology.
While the fact is that a lot people don't feel represented by those standards, and a gender neutral product does not affect any binary person. But most importantly the quality of the game does not depend on the ideology of their designers. And to spread that idea is quite petty of him.
Not to mention he claimed wizards was going to be sold in some years, 2021, enough so that no one would care then about his video, of course again continuing this idea the game is broke, etc. All I see is an attention whore person with no evidence, sources making claims that only lower the consumer confidence, he has done this many times so I have no respect at all for his content or him as community member. And this m25 boxes claim follows his record.
I'm still surprised these kind of guys get so much attention, considering this is the now known behaviour of mixing fake news/online trolling and drama that spreads like fire in a barn which cost America their democracy.
Also, I've seen a lot of people throw around the conspiracy 2 box opening video, but it really wasn't comparable to the masters box opening as it was limited to a very low number of cards. I hope you meant to type "most successful" when you accidentally used "best". I actually got to watch an old video series of auch a "youtube personality" that is now very successful and over the course of the series you could practically watch them sell their soul by forcing themselves to do content they don't care for and going over the top to please the audience that is outright nasty.
Unfortunately YouTube still sometimes thinks I might be interested in more recent videos of them. Though nowadays many salesman take on such a persona from day 1.

[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
I take everything Rudy says with a grain of salt, mainly because he often posts dubious "advice" that seems intended to manipulate the market for his own ends. Case in point, he said that From the Vault: Transform isn't a worthwhile investment compared to others when it may be one the best when one considers the simple fact that DFCs aren't printed that often, let alone reprinted.
Having said that though, the content of the video was definitely compelling. Fortunately, Rudy himself as well as other content creators have seemed to provide evidence that this may have just been a fluke. Hopefully it wasn't something more deceitful.

Can you name all of the creature types with at least 20 cards? Try my Sporcle Quiz! Last Updated: 6/29/20 (Core Set 2021).
Honestly, this set is just bad anyway because they sacrificed far too much for draft, used secondary market cost to cap the cards included, and are depending a lot on foils. Not to mention they have proven they do not know what players want or have no desire to give players what they want.
This set has the worst rng of any set I've seen since mm2015. And they are selling this at 240msrp.

Just to say. Aside from mikokoro being replaced by jace, aurelia and the card after her in the seccond box where the last 2 boosters of the collum(mid i belive). But all the other rares and MR where in the same spot and order. I tried doig this to some of the orther youtube videos to see If i could find other matches, but got tired after 2, mostly because those other youtubers don’t pick from the same row nor it was easy to see from what row they where picking.
That said it looks like it was random occurence. But If the boxes are mapeable, the ones doing it must open alot of product and collect the data propely.

I don't think the boxes are mappable I think that WoTC is doing a different method for distributing cards. If they want less volatility, they can change the spread of cards in the boxes to make fewer blow out boxes. It kills God box phenomena, but it hypothetically leads to less feel bad moments. I just don't think they have enough good mythic and rares in this set.

I watch the video's of Rudy everytime. And i like them. Just as i like all other channels that make video's about mtg.
But all of them have one thing in common.
You can not take everything they say for real.
Obviously. Everyone who watches Rudy’s channel knows you can’t take him seriously. He’s even a self-proclaimed scum bag, but he is entertaining.
Now, it’s pretty obvious too, that the real peeve EstravenEternal has towards Rudy has nothing to do with this box openings, but instead he/she/they/(insert other here) hates that Rudy did not push his/her/their/(insert other here) agenda in his videos, but instead expressed a sentiment many mtg players have, which is, to have Wizards focused on the game instead of ideology.
And you know what, Rudy and everybody else who shares that view are entitled to feel this way and express themselves. And doing that is not spreading hate towards LGBTQRWHTYD or whatever.
EstravenEternal seems to be the type of person that if you disagree with him/her/them/(insert other here) or think differently, than you automatically hate him/her/them/(insert other here). And that is the typical hypocritical stance coming from those pushing inclusion and demanding open-mindedness and acceptance of people with different ideas.
Also, presenting as fact, without showing any evidence, that a “ gender neutral product does not affect any binary person” is dishonest, and you know what, if designers are focused on pushing ideology instead of actually game design, then that really hurts the game, because, you know, the purpose of a game is to be a game, not a vehicle to push agendas.
Having said all that, I don’t hate EstravenEternal or anyone, and no one should be harassed because of gender, but just because you feel harassed that doesn’t always mean you are being harassed.
My reaction to Cash spent on this fluke could be spent on boardgames instead. For example, my M25 is gonna cost me 180€. I could have spent that on GloomHaven or videogames instead. I probably won't even get a Jace. So why did I buy a box? To get crap rares, apparently. Thanks WOTC! I hope you go broke asap.
this has got to be satire, right? if you buy a boardgame you have 0 chance of getting any return on that investment. boardgames also have limited replayability, player constraints, and are hard to transport. if you don't want to play magic that's fine but compared to boardgaming it is a dream. if you wanted a jace you should have just bought a jace, instead of buying a box. don't be mad at wotc for your own stupid decisions.
to all of the amateur financiers complaining about the value of A25, i suggest you look at the mtggoldfish breakdown. it comes to the same conclusion i have: A25 is basically worth around what it is sold for. and while the idea of not exceeding msrp might disgust you, i would implore you to find any other game or product that you can buy and then resell for anywhere close to msrp.
magic isn't an investment, it's a game. opening packs isn't a prospect, it's a gamble. wotc simply makes magic cards, they don't actually owe you anything more than that.
