Most of the "new art equity" is going toward the really old stuff with non-viable art contracts. We're not going to see much new art for post-1998 cards in this set.
I'm extremely glad they used the existing art. It goes to show, but for most card I wished they used the existing art for such a nostalgic set.
This one is particularly dear to me because I started to play when this was just about to leave standard and was an extended staple. I love the colors in the art. Love the style, so refreshing compared too the extreme realism of new sets.

Apocalypse was a really popular set and they're all great cards (if not valuable) but geez. Spread the love around?
And none of the three have new art.
