Well, which DM rare is worth anything much? Given the input requirement, the output can only be at this level. Sure, they could have skipped the rare in DM and put Voices of Resurgence instead...
Or not give Dragon Maze a single rare, i'm sure there are ssets that don't have a rare representitive. Instead lets give this weak set 2 rares. Great idea.
Don't get me wrong, Notion Thief is a great card and wouldn't mind that mutch as representitive, but it also ahs Ruric Thar and a couple of other sets has *****ty cards as representitives while having great ones in their sets, Dragon Maze doesn't have a choice in value.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I could literally spend a Sunday afternoon and throw together a better Masters set than this. I'm confident that anyone on this site who has played Magic for any discernible amount of time could do the same.
Folks. If you pre-ordered boxes, cancel while you can. Don't give Wizards or vendors your hard earned money for this chaff. They continue it because people buy. Let them rot with a rotten product. Buy singles or wait until it goes on fire sale. WotC needs to be confronted on crap like this rare, its horrible.
