That is most definitely a Legends symbol, seeing as no new cards were printed in Chronicles.
Nice reprint, but would have liked to see the old art or a tasteful re-work of a contemplative dragon reading a book, rather than just a generic scary dragon.
EDIT: of course, on the other hand, the only other printing with this art is $70!?

I have found myself with similar thoughts throughout these spoilers. I don't think cards like Lightning Bolt, Counterspell and Brainstorm have ever received a printing with the modern card frame and their original, iconic art.

Yeah, as someone trying to collect one of every dragon art, I'm thrilled to have an affordable version with this artwork. Crappy reading-a-book version can be had for a couple bucks, while this has been over $75. Should be easy enough to acquire this version.

It's been discussed in many threads - the nature of how the artist contracts worked pre-Mirage apparently make them unable to simply decide to reuse an art they commissioned in the past. They'd have to recommission it, and if the artist says no or demands an outlandish fee... it's out of their hands.

It's basically the Imperial Recruiter situation, except way worse because I can assure you the actual demand is low (thanks to the price of the read-a-book one, whereas Recruiter's actual situation is a hazy mess due to no alternatives). At best the nonfoil would only be worth double of the read-a-book one (although I'm actually expecting it a couple of bucks and suppressing the read-a-book one to absolute jank status).
The foil might stand a fighting chance, because people really dislike FTV foiling and while I'm interested to see how that one would fall, something tells me the stubborn price memory (for the foils only, just clarifying) of our systems will prevent it from completely crashing and as a result this foil will command a much, much greater multiplier comparatively than other rares from the set.

Right, so not only will they never even play at returning to the superior aesthetic style of the Legends/ The Dark era, they also can't/ won't even reprint the art. It sucks: The Dark is a crap set, but it's visually stunning, and blows more recent decades out of the water. MTG aesthetics are dull dull dull and have been for many years.
Could easily see Sneak Attack getting reprinted as well at mythic which would be just brutal in a goldfish for limited.
It would be the third red mythic (after Akroma and Recruiter). I don't think they plan to imbalance the colors at mythic so much that they'd give one color three at the cost of leaving another with one.

I guess we'll have to settle for Goryo's Vengeance. They spoiled Flash and Hulk together, woulda been funny to spoil Bolas and GV together. C'mon, GV!

And the FTV art too
And that's like $80 card
This price will fall faster to the earth than a meter
kinda hoping the others make an appearance (the other elder dragon legends) but i'm positive they won't.
