The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Literally looks nothing like him, plus he has his own card.
I know he has his own cards, though I forgot his fuzzy haircut wasn't dreads.
Where did someone say it's Ixidor? The original Willbender wasn't either. Also if it was Ixidor he'd have Ixidor's scepter that appeared in all the artwork for him.
This card reminded me of Voidmage Prodigy, which made me think, putting all the invitational cards in this set would be a great nod. Nothing suggests so far that they're doing that, however.

I mistakenly thought it was Ixidor because of the cloak and hair-do. Consider the original Pacifism did't feature Akroma either, there's no rule saying you can't have a famous character replacing a nameless one in a card art. Though in this case, I was mistaken with the identity.

When that nameless character is representing the creature, though?
The newest Willbender isn't the same person as the original either. Being nameless is exactly that, replaceable. A reverse example would be Desolation Angel from Apocalypse set who was in fact Selenia, Dark Angel, she was changed to an Amonkhet angel in Invocation set. Changing characters in an art piece happens for the sake of cultural representation of a plane.
First printed in Legions.
