The Portal Armageddon remains my favorite, but this printing ain't bad.
Ravages of War would have been more value and increased the availability of scarce card, but it doesn't have the same nostalgia factor as the original.
I finally get a recruiter in this set but no ravages. Hopefully we get imperial seal. My cube is wanting this portal cards but I have been unwilling to pay the price for non reserve list stuff.

Same. Luckily, I have the judge promo Imperial Seal, though I missed out on getting the judge ravages.

Judge promo Ravages could be had for 70-80. It isn't that outrageous.
Amazing! but is disappointing something like this takes up a mythic slot now n’ days.
I take it you never played during the days of Erhnageddon?
If they'd introduced mythic rarity in the original era, Armageddon would've been one of the first things mythicacized.
This is going to be utterly legit in 25 Limited. I'm guessing there's going to be mana dorks and a big green beater or two somewhere (in fact, the odds of getting Erhnam Himself as the Arabian Nights card is probably quite high).... Erhnageddon in Limited would be quite the archetype...

I did, started around revised but never ever played limited. Still don’t actually as I’m not good at it but I prefer a simpler time when mythic rares didn’t exist at all. I’m in the camp that old rares shouldn’t ever be upgraded in rarity, to a rarity that didn’t exist in the game when they were printed. Downshifted rarity’s like Serra Angel, on the other hand I’m all for. Obviously Armageddon can’t be an uncommon, but it’s my opinion that it should be a cheap bin rare. I get how rarity should be a factor for regular sets in limited, but It’s unfortunate that limited is a driving factor for reprints also. Just my opinion.

Personally I just run two (different art) copies of Armageddon in my cube. They're literally the same card anyway, just one costs infinitely more money due to scarcity. I did the same with Wildfire/Burning of Xinye.
Still excited to have Imperial Recruiter though, and holding out hope for Seal.

You're in the wrong camp. Armageddon was in 1 of every 116/117/117 packs in Alpha/Beta/Unlimited. 1 in 121 in Revised, 1 in 121 in 4e, 1 in 132 in 5e, 1 in 110 in 6e.
That frequency of appearance... is pretty close to the frequency of appearance of Mythics today (1 in 121). When they 'introduced' the Mythic rarity, those cards... basically were as frequent as rares used to be, and what they were really introducing was distinct naming for R1s vs R2s - R2s are rares that appear twice on the rare sheet (which now were dubbed 'rares' despite being twice as frequent as the prior definition), while the cards that continue to appear just once they now renamed Mythics.
Yup. Armageddon is going from a once-every-132-packs card in 5e 'Rare', to a 1-in-121-packs 'Mythic' here, and you're convinced it's somehow become less probable because of the name games they've played with R2s.
What didn't exist when Armageddon was printed were cards that appeared twice per 121. That's the new rarity. Once per 121 is what we had then (and Armageddon was, then termed "Rare") and what we have now (and Armageddon is, now termed "Mythic" but having equivalent frequency as rares of old).

That’s an awesome breakdown and explanation! How do you give rep? +1

Ah, I'm with you - railing against them reprinting all our favourite old cards with that stupid newfangled rarity symbol that all the kids use nowadays.
If you pull them, you should just alter out the rarity symbol!

Wow, I hadn't even considered that. And yet it's so very, very correct.
(And it explains why I pulled so much dross from 5th Edition and gave up buying it, too)
Love the centered text

It needed to by Mythic based on what it is. In limited, if you drop it and are significantly ahead, you just win

Sucks it's a mythic but being a rare it would show up every 2 drafts roughly and mass land destruction is the most feel bad thing in magic imo.
