So Apocalypse is represented by the card that says, "Destroy target permanent." Even if Vindicate wasn't awesome, I'd want it in this set just for that.
On a more serious note, I know Day 1 spoilers aren't for judging a whole set, but the Day 1 spoilers are making it look like they just took the most historically powerful, currently powerful, expensive, and/or iconic cards of each set and made a set out of that. I really hope that's what they did.
This card is worth it. Wish it had a ghost of a chance coming through standard into modern, but they don't like the land destruction aspect.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

I think a card like this would actively be bad for modern. It's a 4 of in that format. 100%.
The sorcery speed hurts it more than one would think. In a lot of cases modern removal requires the ability to interact on the opponents turn or it's too late, which is why maelstrom Pulse doesn't see much play despite being a very good card.

No, maelstrom pulse not hitting lands is what hurts it...
Bingo. The card is ALWAYS live. Plus it plays super well in Esper so they have a catch all answer main deck. It doesn't matter that it's a sorcery. Card answers everything that isn't hexproof/indestructible. Plus giving land d in off colors is a weird thing. It might make tokens a deck that's actually decent.
Oh yeah, it's good just I wouldn't say it's like Mental misstep or sol ring kind of good. Definitely up there, though.
