What are the chances card 209 is Nicol Bolas? Hopefully with the good art - I'd like an affordable version with that art.
And just nine hours later, I get my answer. Awesome. I know a lot of people don't really care about Bolas, but as someone trying to collect one of every dragon art, this makes my day.
I'm still waiting for something to appear that really speaks to me in this set. I'd love to see a new Mana Vault, or another older staple. The problem is that WOTC went a little heavy handed with the reserved list and most of the cards of real power and value from Urza's and earlier, are all reserved.
I would have loves to see a Grim Monolith, Gaea's Craddle, or something along those lines.
Now I'm crossing my fingers for a Crucible of Worlds.
Also, I really wish they'd stop reprinting Jace. The only reason he has any hype in this set is because of the unbanning, but the dude has been in so many sets now that is he really a special (non-foil) pull?

Well, Mana Vault still has a chance to be in the set. It isn't on the Reserved List.

now with the spoiling of the enemy filter lands, are the worldwake manlands out?
EDIT: yea, no room for Celestial Colonnade. Yikes this is disappointing. The value of these packs on MTGO is going to be terrible. We really needed some creeping tarpits and celestial colonnades to buttress the value.

I think almost any cycle is ruled out, although I haven't crunched literally everything. Refuges (Sejiri Refuge, Khan's block refuges (Tranquil Cove et al), trilands (both shard, a la Arcane Sanctum, and wedge a la Nomad Outpost), Mirage Fetches (Flood Plain et al), Karoos of all sorts, all seem ruled out. Looks like our only mana fixing cycle is the filters, and those remaining land slots will be standalone (possibly one per color; we could still get Cabal Coffers, Kor Haven, Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, and something blue in addition to the recently spoiled Pendelhaven.
A shame, as I was hoping to see the pains at uncommon (due to the pivotal manafixing role they played for many years of MtG's existence) or see the Mirage Fetches at uncommon (as we still don't have black-bordered, new card face versions of Mountain Valley or Bad River and none of them exist in foil).

Yeah, I also couldn't find a cycle that fit, but with Ash Barrens just being spoiled, there are only 4 land slots left, which completely eliminates the possibility of any cycles. EDIT: I guess the card before Ash Barrens could be a land, but none of those cycles fit.
Can we have a comprehensive list of all the sets that they are taking cards from so we can start crossing sets out as cards are spoiled?
That's a lot of sets (there are 90-ish), and we don't know how many cards they'll pull from each set. I'm not sure what this will accomplish. We also don't know how far forward they're pulling from.
With Ash Barrens we are seeing them go all the way up to November 2016. But non commander stuff ends with Khans block. Part of me hopes they include something from all the last 3 years standard sets even if it is just limited commons.
My big interest is if we get something like Oubliette from Arabian Nights or just Kird Ape. Maybe Ernha mwill move to common.
We also haven't gotten any Portal cards or Urza's block stuff yet so there could still be some old surprises.
I'm going to make another guess - card 71 or 72 could be Rhystic Study. It's probably the most iconic card from Prophesy. Other contenders from that set may be Avatar of Woe and... what? Mageta the Lion?
The number of cards that can be #45 is surprisingly small with only 11 valid cards that fall between "Blue Sun's Zenith" and "Brain Storm" (you'd see 13 in gatherer but Blurry Beeble is silver bordered and Braingeyser is reserved and too similar to BSZ anyhow). There's no obvious inclusion either, as most of those 11 cards already have their set represented. My guess? Troll inclusion of Bonds of Quicksilver at common as a representative of Scars of Mirrodin. Bouncing Beebles as a representative of Urza's Legacy is also plausible. My hope will be Brain Freeze or Borrowing 100,000 Arrows getting their first foil new card face treatment.

I doubt there will be any Standard-legal reprint first printed in a Standard-legal set. Am I wrong?
(parses, parses again).
The cards that represent the current six Standard expansions...? They've said there will be a card from every set-that-had-new-cards up to and including RIX.
I'm starting to get nervous that Scapeshift and Noble Hierarch won't be in the set now. These prices are a little high.
Scapeshift is on theme and makes total sense. But without any other exalted cards, I’m not sure about Noble Hierarch. If we’re going to have a mana dork, I’d expect Birds of Paradise tbh.

EDIT EDIT: Interestingly, both Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse are also crunched out (and I guess would be semi-redundant with Ash Barrens?). I'm curious what other fixing they'll provide. Note that I'm ignoring things that fit but are rare and unlikely to be downgraded (like Mana Confluence) since those aren't really relevant to Limited. Things that fit that aren't a cycle:
-Ancient Ziggurat (if #235 is a land)
-Gemstone Mine
-Henge of Ramos
-Holdout Settlement
-Painted Bluffs
-Unclaimed Territory
-Unknown Shores
-Warped Landscape

Ihsan's Shade may well be the only rep from Homelands, though I wouldn't rule out Serrated Arrows or Eron the Relentless just yet.
