Seeing Hazoret and Chandra. Torch of Defiance in these has restored some trust in Wizards for sure. These look like a decent start point for FNM and there are needed reprints too.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
I just looked over them, and man am I glad I sold most of my Standard rares and mythics last month! 4x Heart of Kiran in one deck, 1x Chandra, 1x Hazoret and 1x Glorybringer in one other, 4x Spire of Industry, 6x Harsh Mentor spread over 2 decks. The value is insane... and the desire to crack open Kaladesh booster is gone.
Upsides: People might actually play at FNM with these decks, and might actually do well.
Downsides: FNM could just turn into battling the same four decks over and over again, but then again, that's pretty much what standard is anyway most of the time.
Considering the INSANE value in most of these decks, the fact that there are no Torrential Gearhulks in that Second Sun deck is a bit of a letdown. Aether Hub or sideboard Confiscation Coup would also have been nice. I get why they can't put a Search for Azcanta or three in there, but out of the box it's definitely the deck with the longest way to go towards jumping from FNM to PTQ. Also disappointing for Counter Surge to not get any copies of Vraska's Contempt and only one copy of Fatal Push and that all the other decks get for real dual lands and they are stuck with a playset of Foul Orchard and 0 copies of Blossoming Marsh, but the deck itself looks fun and no one can argue with the value there either (playset of Hubs, playset of Siphoners, a Ballista, multiple Rishkars).
Mostly this is a sign of good faith from WotC. These decks look solid, 3 of the 4 are actually decks seeing significant T1 or T2 play in Standard ATM, and they included serious value cards, put actual good mana in most of the decks, and didn't try to force the newest set by having stuff like "Naya Dinos" or "RB Pirate Aggro" that just aren't off the ground yet. As a casual player I'll be tempted to grab the Red deck or the Counters deck if I can get them for anywhere near MSRP and show up to some FNMs, before cannibalizing them for EDH pieces.

Entered the decks to MTGGoldfish's deck pricer, this is what I got--
Hazored: $89 (almost all value in Hazoret, Chandra, and SSMs)
Mardu Vehicles: $95 (That land base is expensive!)
Approach: $79 (Fumigates and Settle the Wreckage, along with a decent mana base)
BG: $84 (the deck has Ballista and 3x Verdurous)
All in all, they are going to tank the value of some cards, which I think is a good thing, esp since I like to play BG and my son loves to play mono Red but has no Chandra or Hazoret. Interesting times.

Still convinced the guy on Beseech the Queen is wearing a Mitra-type hat. Wake up sheeple!
This is quite surprising. Wizards certainly came through for these, with only minor issues with some of the decks. If they keep this up it will buy them some good faith from me. Event Decks started out more or less great, but went down over time, so that's the real test is them continuing to be good over the years and not just for the first year or two.
They have, it's called the Modern Event Deck. It's a bit out of date though. I imagine that they could do one for Merfolk this year, since most of them have already been reprinted.
The value is looking good. I wonder how much the stores will charge for it though.
If these products are also going to big box stores, then LGSes can't mark up the price too high. I would say $34.99 USD max.
Also remember that the vast bulk of these cards are from the Kaladesh and Amonkhet blocks. These decks will be released on the 6th of April, and those sets will rotate out in September/October, so that leaves them with 5-6 months of legality, most of which are in Summer (when attendance tends to fall). Most of these cards are already slowly losing value and, by the time these decks are released, I would not be surprised that these cards are worth half of their current value (apart from some Mythics and Lands).
Store owner of the LGS complained how this would be bad for business, and his solution would be to to buy these products and open them and sell the singles....

Honestly, this guy can go screw himself. These are the kind of people we don't need in the community.

While a few LGSs could eat stick with a few staples on their hands these are exactly the type of singles that fly off th shelves at my LGS. My guy can't keep hazoret in stock; his inventory hit from these decks will be minimal because the cards that make this good are what he turns over the fastest.
This is a huge home run imo. $30-40 bucks for a 5-6 month standard legal deck that you can round out for $10-50 in trades and pick ups for a PPTQ.
This coupled with the showdown packs is a metric ton of value being thrown at players on the cheap, which makes me take back some of the cash grab comments about the volume of supplemental sets recently.
While I hear the issue with removal, supposedly they are going to begin righting the ship with dominaria. Perhaps it'll be less of an issue going forward.
I'm a huge fan...and this is coming from someone who just recently pulled the trigger on 3 hearts, 4 spire of industry and other goodies showing up here for standard.
The value is there. But lets see how much markup they get on release from LGS and online.
Will these be sold in box stores like Event Decks were?
