It's a mythic, it has little to no impact on the draft format.
Entreat the angels?
Basically, I'm seeing three problems with the set so far and they are partially related to eliminating core sets. The cards in the set suffer from legality issues, preventing them from seeing organized play. I'd argue that Fulminator mage is a better include than imperial recruiter because it does see more play even if it doesn't hold a huge price tag. The second is that a lot of these cards are not worth ten dollar packs. Master of the hunt is fine for a core set and I'm surprised he isn't slotted for the upcoming one. Finally, they are not showing a clear theme for the set outside of picking cards off a checklist.
Again, one hour closer to midnight.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Know, I think an interesting masters theme could be plane ‘vs‘ plane (really just a two-planes-drawn masters set) - imagine a Kaladesh-Mirrodin artifacts themed masters, or a Ravnica-Tarkir multicolor themed masters set.

I don't think they are going to go through making another masters set like this again. They may have announced "we are making masters about themes now", but this was just a disaster because they have no way to sell this at the msrp they set. It's just easier to sell people these sets if they are at the price of unstable if this is what we can expect.

Well, to be fair, this is all hearsay at this point. You may be right, but there's every chance that it sells alright come March 16. The contributors to this thread are a fairly small cross section of MtG players, so there's no guarantee that every possible opinion is catered for in the assessment that it'll tank. I certainly won't be buying anything barring half a dozen commons and uncommons and a couple of rares, but hype counts for a lot, and the possibility of pulling a chase foil is enough for people to part with their money in many cases.
All this being said, Wizards are becoming known for saying 'we're going to be selling elephants from here on in'. Couple of months later, feedback is poor, 'due to market research indicating dissatisfaction, we're going to be selling giraffes instead'. So, yeah. You never know, especially with WotC.

Given the youtube outrage, the roasting on twitter, and reddit I wish "the hype" the best of luck. There are people cancelling orders all over the place after the spoilers happened and it's not looking good. Wedge barely makes videos and he even made one today that is basically a rehearsal of what we all just did on this forum... and probably reddit...
I will say this set has succeeded in setting the secondary card market on fire as people are now going everywhere to grab what didn't get reprinted. I've pretty much going to just adopt the saying "holy bananas" after this set to describe my feelings. Sweet mercy they didn't even reprint a freaking Gavony Township. Why the stupid tree?

Gavin talking about how draft is the greatest thing since the introduction of sliced bread Power 9 is the thing that infuriates me the most. The aftermath with the number of jackals speculators, investors, and players fighting over the remaining cards is the second thing.
I bought these cards to play a damn game, not play the stock market.

No one enjoys the secondary market in MtG, it's just the necessary evil everyone gets stuck living with right now if they want to play constructed. On the upside pauper at least isn't bad to play as far as cost goes and it is the closest thing to kitchen table magic one can get to in a competitive environment.

They say Masters 25 is about the history of Magic, but isn't Time Spiral kind of like that as well, with all the time shifted cards?
If they are going to go for an Artifact theme, I bet the set would be just a compilation of the Mirrodin and Scars of Mirrodin blocks.
At $10 a pack, it would just be two jank sets clashing it out. Moght as well get three packs from a warehouse, one or two from each, and put it in a hanger for $10, it would be a better deal.
