Man, I may be wrong on this, but it seems to me assembling contraptions is wayyyy too easy. Like, as easy as drawing a card, if this card is any indication, with the potential to be significantly more powerful.

Oh good, I thought I was the only one thinking that. I'm getting a little leery of the Contraptions myself. I happen to like the unsets and like that most of the cards can be mainstreamed into decks (house rules of course), Carnivorous Death-Parrot is one such particular favorite with my kids.
But from what've seen so far. This new set is less like an Un-set and more like an attempt to launch Contraptions in a way that WotC can backpedal without any backlash from the community.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Relax, there are only 45 contraptions in the set and I imagine not many more than that number of cards that care about them. That means that well over half of the set is not about contraptions. They have purposefully been concealing the second main mechanic, too. They just made this week all about contraptions.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

You mean Contraption's Stroke of Genius

It's a Contraptiongeyser, actually.
