So far it seems like a mixed bag. Some of the rares are truly excellent (crptyic command, vial, flusterstorm, grove, canopy, magus of the moon, cobra), others are really really bad (spiritmonger, lord of the pit, scourge of valkas, savageborn hydra, curse of predation). Feelks like you will either love your pack or hate it. The only nice uncommon I see is bauble so far. They downgraded bladewing to uncommon, heh.

I am currently writing a live-updated list of highlight reprints. It's not sorted or anything yet; I'll do that later. I'll be happy to post a reply in here with it once I have finished for today.
That card only sees play on VINTAGE and on some multiplayer commander lists. Blergh.
Based on this comment, and maybe three or four others already, expressing displeasure about these choices, I'd make the suggestion that Iconic Masters (not "competitive masters" or "sees tournament play masters") isn't made for you. No harm in that, but there's no need for you to fill this thread with negativity either.
These are stonking reprints.
Mana drain is super hot for commander. Amazing art as well.

Modern: G Tron, Vannifar, Jund, Druid/Vizier combo, Humans, Eldrazi Stompy (Serum Powder), Amulet, Grishoalbrand, Breach Titan, Turns, Eternal Command, As Foretold Living End, Elves, Cheerios, RUG Scapeshift
It isn't usually a good idea to buy things spontaneously based on hype and incomplete information. Every Masters set has people hyped to the high heavens when the initial spoilers come out and then relatively disappointed when the full set is known.

Sigh, thou art correct...
That being said, I am going to be buying a ton of singles already as it is! lol
So far the only reprint I've seen that I would not be excited to get is Primeval Titan, and that is only because it isn't legal in commander, which is my preferred format (Second being draft, and my god is this set draftable, so much value...)

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Many of the high-priced cards, like mana drain, are played in narrow competitive formats or only EDH. Their current price is held up by scarcity. Mana drain is not a 200$ card in IM booster. It's a 50$ card. You'll be opening boosters, look at "all that value" but realize the value was in how hard to get they were, not due to real competitive demand.
I won't buy IM because I don't need Kamigawa dragons and won't play the booster roulette.
PS: also tired of the piss-my-pant ALL-CAPS hyperventilators.

I will only address you because mods already said we shouldn't discuss what should or should not be reprinted.
First, I made one single comment about mana drain, based on my dislike of reprinting old cards that see play nowhere, even if they are expensive. All other comments of 'negativity' was myself defending my stance in face of people who are happy with the reprint of a card that most magic players will never use. That and kamigawa dragons, who definitely didn't need another printing.
Besides that, I like some of the reprints, and said just now that the set is a mixed bag. Why do you feel entitled to tell me that I should or should not express my opinion just because it is a negative one? Should I only speak if it is to join the hype?

That's the end of that discussion for me.
Some cards do not see play, not because they aren't good, but because they're prohibitively expensive, such as the aforementioned Mana Drain. Most people don't have $200 to spend on one card, this is also why formats like Legacy and Vintage are slowly, but surely dying. Every expensive card they can and do reprint is good for the longevity of the game, regardless of what you think of that individual card.
Personally I am stoked as heck for nearly every uncommon, rare, and mythic revealed so far, and would be happy to open any of them, including the ones that aren't "expensive".

What?? You mean you'd rather see them reprint cards that actually have demand rather than something with an artificially high price tag that so we can all circle jerk about how much "value" is in the set and create a hype echo chamber where we all try to one-up each other by using more capitals and exclamation points and hyperbolic expressions of our excitement over a cynical consumer product? That won't stand here mister!
It isn't usually a good idea to buy things spontaneously based on hype and incomplete information. Every Masters set has people hyped to the high heavens when the initial spoilers come out and then relatively disappointed when the full set is known.
It should also be pointed out that these IM spoilers are coming in the midst of Ixalan spoilers, and stealing thunder from the latter, while also tamping down on discussion about how bad of a card for constructed play the face walker of the set is (looks great for EDH though!). WotC marketing in high gear today. This likely means we've seen the best of what Ixalan has to offer and nothing is left there worth getting excited about.

FREE MODERN. Break the Standard link.
I play Magic: the Gathering, not Magic: the Commandering.
Good lord, all the kvetching about "Wahhhhhh not for the MTG Cancer format". Not everything has to be for REEEEEEEDH. Complaining about Mana Drain? Really? What is wrong with you people? This set looks freaking bananas right now. If you think the $10 price point is too high, fine, valid complaint. You know what else is a valid complaint? $200 Mana Drains. I want Mana Drains. I don't have the income for Mana Drains. Now, maybe I can get Mana Drains. Maybe.
Thoughtseize with original art: RAD!
Mana Drain: DOUBLE RAD!
Horizon Canopy: RAD! (Though I like the original better)
Bogardan Hellkite: ...wat...
Kokusho: RAD!
Not really much else could make me happier for this set other than WotC saying "Oh yeah btw we're scrapping the reserved list here's some dual lands".
Edit: HOLY BUTTS THE CRYPTIC REPRINT. Oh man new art that's an homage to the old art I love it. It looks GREAT. One of the few times I prefer new art to old.
Well, the rare/mythic set up of the set looks pretty good so far (baring the Kamigawa dragons).
I know we haven't seen much in terms of commons/uncommons, but I'm a bit bummed thus far. For a set begin "Iconic" masters it doesn't really seem liked they delved that deep in the games history. This would be a great excuse to let people play with old staples like Black/White Knight, Savannah Lions, Counterspell, Dark Ritual, Lightning Bolt, Manowar, Jackal Pup, etc at common/uncommon. Hopefully we'll see more like this as further previews are revealed.
Set looks great for cubers and EDH players. Finally getting a Canopy for the cube, plus stuff like Vorinclex, Cobra, Flusterstorm, and Mana Drain for EDH decks.
Maybe they're not the reprints you'd prefer, but these are expensive cards with no supply and it puts them into players' hands. That's good.
