Not just 'bat god,' but 'bat god of night.' So as to not be confused with bat god of day, who has temples at every street corner and acolytes handing out flyers at WalMart.
Very nice. So far we have Maze of Ith and Diamond Valley and that Izzet land that loots. Dare I hope for a Volrath's Stronghold or a Thawing Glaciers?

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Walking up the steps to the lost temple with a trail of blood--priceless. Now...who wants to see the bat-god show up in Rivals?
In the meantime, I will gladly pay 1B and 2 life for a Greed with extra benefits. Also, if I am going to sacrifice a creature to the temple then it will be something I can get back like The Scorpion God (after blocking with it, of course).
This cool, the Mayans had a bat god of night, Camazotz. I don't think we'll see gods but def interested in the religion(s?) on Ixalan.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Ok I might still be groggy from waking up but this is really good, right? Like, am I reading this correctly? Quasi-Greed + Diamond Valley?
Yes, it's an extremely solid card - the transform condition isn't too hard and not only is it a Diamond Valley, it's one that makes colored mana if you need it for mana production in a pinch.
This card seems easier to flip than the other versions, but I'm not sure about the payoff. I don't know, the design overall feels constrained, such as in the vehicle that flips into a land. You would want this in a control deck? Then you won't have creatures to sac once it flips. Maybe in an aggro deck sideboarding vs control? But then why would you need the flip-mode? This and the vehicle have a clear tension in design where the front side appears to slot in one type of deck and the backside on another.
Also, the art would be gorgeous on the front-side if weren't for the huge bat-god head serving as a 'vision'. Seriously, that looks bad. They could have made the 'vision' more subtle. Flip-side art looks amazing though.

Would you like to read Commander stories? Check my latest stories, coming from Lorwyn and Innistrad: Ghoulcaller Gisa and Doran, The Siege Tower! If you like my writing, ask me to write something for your commander as well!
Even if you don't care about transforming the enchantment into the land, there are so many lifelink tools available that this card easily represents drawing one or two cards on your opponent's end step for free (well, for 2 or 4 mana, but you know what I mean). I'd buy that for a dollar!
The Vampires of Ixalan practice a ritual called the Blood Fast. Basically this is asceticism - they don't drink blood for a set period of time, i.e., they're fasting. The usual consequences of this are apparently a lot like what would happen if you or I were deprived of food, water, and sleep for a while - you'd get weak and exhausted and begin to see things that aren't there. For these vamps it's usually religious or prophetic visions.
Now I'm wondering whether there's a whole cycle of these, considering there are only 10 DFCs and I don't think we've seen 6 artifact-flip-lands yet, right?
I hope it isn't the real card. The name must be " Arguel's Blood Feast " . " Arguel's Blood Fast " means nothing unless it's a too subtle joke.
A fast is a period of time where one starves oneself. It used to be believed by a lot of different groups (including a lot of the native population of the Americas) that a fast could bring you prophetic visions and other such otherworldly information. So no, a blood fast (as in, Arguel, as a vampire, is fasting which means he's not drinking blood) that leads to him having visions that lead him to a lost temple of a forbidden god is RIGHT up the alley of "mesoamerican tropes".
I hope it isn't the real card. The name must be " Arguel's Blood Feast " . " Arguel's Blood Fast " means nothing unless it's a too subtle joke.
Blood fasting seems to be something that vampires do on Ixalan. They starve themselves of blood until they go crazy, as a way to receive visions, maybe?

EDIT:
Actually, both this and Spires of Orazca have upgrades in the fact that they can tap for mana.
Flavor's pretty great. I like the portrayal of how the Blood Fast would make you lose your damn mind, and the ominous foreshadowing.
