I hope it isn't the real card. The name must be " Arguel's Blood Feast " . " Arguel's Blood Fast " means nothing unless it's a too subtle joke.
Assuming Arguel is a Vampire it seems like it makes sense. Arguel is fasting from blood to gain some sort of knowledge (drawing a card). Since he needs blood, he is slowly killing himself (lose 2 life) until he finally reaches the Temple he is seeking and can devour anyone that comes along. Or, something like that. I admit, I am not usually the best at picking up the flavor on every card.
I admit there are some stretches here, but still; "fast" seems fine.
Anyway, I like the card (Diamond Valley is my favorite land in the game) but I will be watching it to see if I can slot it into anything. Going down to 5 life seems super risky in any format, but the payoff is pretty nice. If only it transformed right away rather than having to wait until upkeep.

No? The vampires of the Dusk Legion undergo blood fasts. The abstain from blood until it drives them insane. In other cards its said to end in horrifying violence. Here it leads to hallucinations.
It's good, but very easy to lose with as well. I think you're going to see a lot of circumstances where the card triggers to flip, and in response to that trigger the opponent kills the creature you were hoping to sacrifice.
For the record, I think the card is fine. 2 life per card is a very real cost, so it isn't busted. Honestly, the real miss is transforming into Diamond Valley instead of a land version of Mirror Universe. That would have made the card *really* interesting.
Now I'm wondering whether there's a whole cycle of these, considering there are only 10 DFCs and I don't think we've seen 6 artifact-flip-lands yet, right?
This might be one of those things where three cycle members are going to be in Ixalan and two of them are going to be saved for Rivals.
Not being a native english speaker, you guys just made me realize what "Breakfast" meant in the first place. My mind is blown.
Then don't start to think about pea nuts (those vegetable got balls), butter scotch (those rowdy drunken kids), and ban ana (wouldn't have to be isolated if she were not that annoying).
Two life and two mana seems a lot for a single card. The land seems pretty strong though.
I mean, not really. It's repeated card draw in a color that is known for making you expend life to gain an advantage. In this case, CA. And in a deck that runs a bunch of lifegain creatures...
Too much work to flip just so you can sac your own guys to live?
No tnx.
Rate to get cards is high as well. Even in a lifegain payoff deck cost is high.
This card seems easier to flip than the other versions, but I'm not sure about the payoff. I don't know, the design overall feels constrained, such as in the vehicle that flips into a land. You would want this in a control deck? Then you won't have creatures to sac once it flips. Maybe in an aggro deck sideboarding vs control? But then why would you need the flip-mode? This and the vehicle have a clear tension in design where the front side appears to slot in one type of deck and the backside on another.
Also, the art would be gorgeous on the front-side if weren't for the huge bat-god head serving as a 'vision'. Seriously, that looks bad. They could have made the 'vision' more subtle. Flip-side art looks amazing though.
I'd say aggro, tempo, and midrange decks definitely want this card. For aggro, you wouldn't necessarily board it in against control (although I see your reasoning behind this), but it wouldn't hurt to run MB either. Midrange decks would do well with both sides since they run a bunch of fatties. Control could run this in a Approach of the Second Sun deck, but it does well enough with the U card draw that it has.
I think it's funny to see people poo-pooing this card. Maybe it's because creatures are so ridiculous in comparison to spells these days, but back when Balduvian Horde or Lhurgoyf was the craziest thing you'd see on the board (and they were crazy at the time), Oath of Lim-Dul and Greed were the business.
Marchesa, the Black Rose will absolutely love this. A cheaper Greed that turns into a sac outlet for your Dethrone creatures? Or better yet, run Unleash creatures and watch as Marchesa recurs them time and again in exchange for increasing your life total so you can turn around and pay that life to Greed or Erebos, God of the Dead.
If this is a cycle, and Vampires get the black part, what will the other colors be associated with and what might they do? What will their triggers be and what will the corresponding land do to play off of them?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Are there any cards that universally force a flip on these dual sided cards?
I can only think of Moonmist and Waxing Moon (in Modern) and you'd have to turn the permanent into a Human or Werewolf for it to work.

STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.

In the deck that wants this, it's gas. Too bad Cryptolith Rite is rotating, because this is the kind of nut card that the deck could go crazy with. At the end of the day, the mana is the biggest constraint over the life. People play Griselbrand for a reason, and while this doesn't do it near as efficiently, it does come down early and still provides a reasonable trade-off of life and extra mana for card advantage. Approach of the Second Sun will probably like this as well, if it decides to go black. The lifegain from Approach is not trivial and in this instance equates to 3.5 cards.
Hmm, the first transform card from this set that has a better front side than back...in all honesty, I am really excited for the front half. Gas for days.
Greed is good. I like it. Work your way down for card advantage, it's not a MUST transform, allowing you to continue and play things close to the chest, while at the same time being able to transform it for a Diamond Valley on the backside. Pretty slick.

You didn't know the term "fast"? Like break...fast. The meal with coffee, coffee, and a side of coffee. That one.

The art on the front is absolutely horrible though. That floating head, that generic, oversaturated video game swamp in the background...
I think the floating head might be the bat-god's head.
