Storm Fleet Aerialist - 1U (Uncommon)
Creature - Human Pirate
Flying
Raid - Storm Fleet Aerialist enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter if you attacked with a creature this turn.
1/2
Storm Fleet Arsonist - 4R (Uncommon)
Creature - Orc Pirate
Raid - When Storm Fleet Arsonist enters the battlefield, if you attacked with a creature this turn, target opponent sacrifices a permanent.
4/4
Favorable Winds - 1U (Uncommon)
Enchantment
Creatures you control with flying get +1/+1.
The Storm Fleet Arsonist seems really good because raid is trivial to trigger. I didn't know that Favorable Winds existed before but now that I know I need it.
Huh, a 2-drop 1/2 flyer that can ETB with a +1/+1 counter on it is exactly what my counters-matter casual deck was looking for.
Unfortunately, the condition being Raid is slightly inconvenient for this build. After a T1 Experiment One or Cloudfin Raptor, in T2 this leaves you a dilemma - you can cast this before combat to get the evolve trigger before combat but forego the raid trigger, or you can cast this after combat to get both triggers but your creature would have had to attack (and ideally, survive) without growing first.
What's the most resilient parasite? An idea.
A single idea from the human mind can build cities.
An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules...
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
The arsonist seems like a colour pie break to me or at least a major bend. Red does not get to destroy enchantments and a sacrifice effect is pretty rare for Red too.
That is simply not possible. Storm Crow is the second most powerful card in magic behind Island! Why is Storm Crow so busted and powerful? Well because of Storm Crow of course. It is that simple. Storm Crow rules!
So, anyone else expect a flying ship Vehicle to play off Favorable Winds?

That being said I like the cards.
3 mono-R cards, a few random effect ones, and a couple mixed with white, it's not really that it's rare in Red, "sacrifice a permanent" is rather rare in general.

I know he thinks I'm impressed by a 102 MPH fastball in the 9th inning... Ok, I'm impressed, but that doesn't mean I can't crush it.

Also, could Flying Pirates.dec be a thing? T1 Siren Stormtamer, T2 Storm Fleet Aerialist or Kitesail Freebooter sounds alright.

Then T3 Jace, Cunning Castaway...yeah definitely worth looking in to.
