Gideon tribal was already kind of a deck, but now it might just be an actual one now that you can have 3 on the field and really mess with your opponent.
Finally, a Jace that makes illusions. Why did it take this long?
That is one thing I've wondered for some time as well, considering in every story his #2 go to move is making illusions if the thing he is up against is not susceptible to mind shenanigans.
Why, just WHY is Jace doing something physically difficult like hanging from an air ladder (or whatever it's called), looking like he seriously took to the gym and now shows off? His.. his image! That's Gideon stuff! Where did the supernerd mentality go?
Edit UW control can also now establish a thick lock with Jura and Trial Gideons in the board together.
I don't have a problem with him on the cargo net as he should be able to physically climb a ladder, but the most ridiculous thing is the one glove on the torn sleeve side but barehanded other side makes it seem like Jace made that particular choice instead of just making him look beat up from his recent encounter (if that's what they were going for). I'm don't understand fashion but the composition is just weird... like socks but no pants sort of thing, unless he is trying to be the Michael Jackson of the Multiverse.
As for the card I like it. And the legendary rule thing fits best with jace anyway but it will be weird seeing an army of Gideon's since every one of his cards pretty much does the same thing you get built in redundancy.

listen here GORL nerds can be sexy too. Jace isn't a beefcake daddy like Gideon, he's obviously a lean twink type and personally I think the art is perfect. I like him showing some skin too <3 Gahhh this is gonna be among my top 5 favorite cards. The men of Vryn as so fiiiiine
Bet every deck I own that Jace is still going to be a boring slice of stale toast in the Ixalan storyline despite his off brand Gerrard Capashen pose on this card.

Well, he does mildly amusing stuff with Doubling Season, but I still don't think I'd run him in superfriends.
Midly amusing? He would create an infinite amount of 2/2's when he hits the field. That's game winning.
Infinite non-hasty 2/2s that have to survive a turn to win the game. Hence, mildly interesting. Trust me, you pull that in a multiplayer Commander game, and someone is going to board wipe. Not to mention, he's pretty lame if you don't have Doubling Season out. And his plus ability kinda sucks. the more I think about him, the less I like him.

On one hand, self-improvement is a part of blue's color philosophy.
On the other hand, an overworked desk-jocky mind mage like Jace doesn't seem the type to have such a stereotypical athletic build, at least by choice.
I'll ask MaRo for a maybe on blogatog, but this is how it probably went down:
After becoming the Guildpact
Lavinia: Now that your'e the Guildpact, Guildpact, the Senate expects you to be prepared in both mind and body for potential enemies of the Guildpact. And so Guildpact, I have taken it upon myself to enroll you in the basic training program all Arresters such a myself go through.
Jace: *cringes*
After the Gatewatch moves in
Gideon: Ah, Jace, I was just speaking with Lavinia about your basic training...
Jace: *begins edging toward the nearest exit*
Gideon: *wraps his meat-limbs around Jace's shoulder and leads him toward the training room* ...and after discussing your performance against Emrakul's brood on Innistrad, we've come to the conclusion that your current training is lackluster. But don't worry; with my help, you're sure to see results!
Jace: (telepathically) Someone help me!
Nissa: (telepathically) My aplogies, but this is for the best.
Lilianna: (telepathically) Hmm, a little bit more meat on your bones will do you some good.
i really want wizards to rule on if all planeswalkers can be commanders. if so i can finally pilot my blink deck with venser.
Currently there is no need to make a ruling on it. As the current rules are pretty clear and state that only Legendary CREATURES can be Commanders. Well that are the five mono-coloured Planeswalker from Commander 2014.
This is why other Legendary permanents, such as Elbrus, the Binding Blade, can't be Commanders, unless your local group wants to make it a house rule.
Am interested to see how this rule changes things. Being able to have two different Jaces, Nissas or anything during a game could make things fun.
So we can assume vraska is a pw in the set. Do we have rumors or thoughts on any others?
Angrath's Marauders and Dragonskull Summit's flavor texts seem to imply two things: one, that there's a R/x PW named Angrath allied with the pirate faction, and that he (and maybe all?) Planeswalkers can't leave Ixalan. Gives another hint towards the theory that Ixalan is basically a planar drainage ditch.

You'd still have infinite Jaces though, too. So unless they take out the Doubling Season, or the board wipe hits 'walkers as well, you can just try again next turn. And every subsequent turn, until it sticks.
Does it mean there will be non-legendary PWs? Like some Bolas' minions kinda thing?
It's possible, but the article states that all planeswalkers going forward will be legendary. It would also be super confusing because there wouldn't be a good way to tell which planeswalkers are erattad and which are actually non-legendary unless they put reminder text on the non legendary ones, which isn't very elegant.
