Disregarding the flavor, artwork, and originality of this card, all of which are home runs by the way, lets look at the general power of this card. The frontside is a lot of work, but the back side of this card really is worth it. You're spending five mana over the course of three turns for a black lotus effect tied to a pseudo library of alexandria. That's really really sweet.
I remember someone commenting that the end of the map would be black lotus on the art for this card. He said it as a joke, but he was honestly pretty close to being right.
Flavor's cool and all, but I really hate these counter based artifacts. You can only get 1 per turn, sans something like proliferate, and even when it does transform, you have to wait a full turn to use it. Probably good enough for Standard, but I hate how freaking slow it is. Would love to see a DFC card that's Modern playable. This could be good enough for EDH at least.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I`m the only one who still hate DFCs? Find them gimmicky? Dislike the hassle of taking them out of the sleeve to turn them around? Get annoyed that I`ll have to get new draft sleeves because my current ones aren`t completely opaque?
Really? Well ok then.

When I hit my 3000 post mark, I'm gone for good.

I mean, I must say I'm still impressed on how much people complain. First: DFC are a great addition to magic overall. If you don't like it, fine, it is not for you, someone else will enjoy it.
Thing is, I actually like the concept behind DFCs, i.e. cards that change from one state to another. Werewolves were by far my favourite thing from Innistrad (and come to think of it the only thing in Innistrad I like) But they just. Don't. Work. In paper Magic.
In Magic Duels I actually had a werewolf deck and it was one of my favourites, but all attempts of building a real-life werewolf deck were stifled by the logistics of handling such a deck. It's a terrible thing if you like the gameplay of a thing but decide not to play it, because it's too much hassle logistically.
The only time I actually liked DFCs was Origin's flip-walkers. I think that was the best way to do them. Not in bulk, but rather in low enough numbers that a deck has probably no more than two or so.
Yeah, but you don't have to pull out your sleeved cards all the time. Not only is it annoying as hell, but it also kinda defeats the purpose of sleeving cards.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I can't wait till I can play my bicycle land out, thus making me heckbent, while I have Nessie on the field. You know, so I can attack with my Pervert.

I am that someone. I will shamelessly accept all credit for my amazing feat of prognostication.
On a serious note tho, I appreciate the fact that they seeded an engine card like this early in the spoiler season. Just its existence makes you double check any treasure producers that otherwise would have been easily dismissed.
EDIT: Christmas-landy, but bare with me. You could go T2 Skyship Plunderer -> T3 Map, activate, swing Plunderer -> T4 Swing Plunderer, Activate map + flip. Giving you 3 treasure, 3 untapped land, and a newly untapped Treasure Cove for a total of 7 mana on T4. Is that right?

Library of Alexandria? I thought of Ancestral Recall, albeit with the "once per turn" restriction. But since it's treasure, you can potentially get some sort of weird Phyrexian Arena-type thing going. (I only call it Phyrexian Arena because that's the gold standard for "slow draw" in EDH.)

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I know he thinks I'm impressed by a 102 MPH fastball in the 9th inning... Ok, I'm impressed, but that doesn't mean I can't crush it.

I know some people here predicted the return of DFC's,
but I personally find it a bit surprising to see them return so soon.
At least they seem to be trying something new with them.

If I wanted to play with proxies I could do that without buying Magic cards.

Funny how people would have been happy with masterpieces like this - i wonder what treasure masterpieces would have included.
