EDIT: And the FNM Promo tokens are:
1/1 White Vampire with Lifelink
3/3 Green Dinosaur with Trample
2/2 Black Pirate with Menace
Artifact - Treasure on the back of each of the above tokens
All in all, this is somewhat exciting though no "big ticket" cards are shown off here.
Walk the plank is flavorful.
Bishop of rebirth is a more aggressive, less abusive Karmic Guide, which isn't bad.
Unclaimed Territory is a gimped Cavern of Souls, which still might be pretty good.
Burning Sun's Avatar is a very toned down Inferno Titan
Buy a Box promo packs seem interesting. Foil Guay lands are great, the rare/mythics could be sweet.
Unclaimed Territory is a welcome Commander staple, especially in Tribal decks - which is perfect for this year. Insane. That could have easily been a rare.
No wonder this set is going to look amazing. Cynthia Shepherd is the art director. Go figure. Her work is remarkable. She's painted some of my favorite pieces.
As I tribal lover I need like 9 for decks I ready have and tons more I want to play. Might be nerfed Cavern of Souls but its the mana fixing that was always the biggest draw for me with that card.

Mechanical themes might have help bumped it down, since mana fixing is really needed for the tribes.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Seems the Vampires are going for a Conquistador vibe.
At first, I thought Unclaimed Territory was a better Ancient Ziggurat, but there is a trade-off: Ziggurat can fix for any creature, while Territory can only fix for the chosen tribe. However, in a tribal deck, the difference should matter little, and Territory can still tap for C to help cast any other kind of spell. In practice, I'd say that still makes Territory better, just not strictly better.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I love Unclaimed Territory. Feels like this card should have been in all 4 of the C17 decks but found it's way to Ixalan instead.I'd much prefer a reprint of Cavern of Souls (AT RARE WIZARDS), but having a budget version and a getting to run both this and Cavern in my EDH decks is neat.
I love that we have three types of Treasure: Pirate's booty, conquisador's loot, native's stash - and each on the reverse of an associated creature token. Splendid!
I also like how the french vanilla tokens are coming together. Pirates with menace is great flavor.
Apparently the natives rever aspects of the sun as avatars of what I assume is a pantheon - and those avatars are dinosaurs. Neat.
I like the art style on Walk the Plank. Apparently Ixalan has blue Goblins. The return of the creature type has been promised since first spoilers of then Khenra. ^^

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Now why is it when I click the link I see this in the upper left corner (please see attachments)??? Wizards, why you no like me?!?!?!
Aside from that noise, the art may be good for Walk the Plank, but upon further close inspection, it does look a bit amateurish with the visible style of colored pencil... guess I should be happy they are going beyond digital painting...
So goblins are returning at long last... I almost counted them out because the rare sheet didn't have any. The blue skin is unique trait, but other than that they look a lot like Tarkir's goblins. I guess this means that the pirate faction contains humans, sirens, orcs, AND goblins. I wonder if the goblins will be in a color other than red (presumably blue or black because Grixis pirates) on account of Ixalan's apparent theme of putting iconic races in unusual colors. Probably not, but there's a chance.
According to the flavor text, Tillonalli appears to be some sort of sun-based deity. It's possible that Tillonalli is just the general sun god that is represented partially by all the sun avatar dinos, but my theory is that Ixalan has three suns (one red, one green, one white) and a sun god for each, with Tillonalli being the red one. The reference to him (her? it?) in the name of Tillonalli's Skirmisher (the mono-red temporary shapeshifter on the rare sheet) and the Burning Sun's Avatar very red-sounding (but not very green/white-sounding) flavor text seem to imply as much.
There's also a white dinosaur on the rare sheet named Kimalla's Sunwing. I'd speculate that Kimalla might be the white sun god if I wasn't 80% sure that Kimalla is the name of the new RW planeswalker. Regardless, I don't think that we'll see cards for Tillomalli (and/or other sun gods if they exist). They're definitely not in Ixalan and while they could be in Rivals, I doubt it because Mesoamerican god cards might be considered offensive and this/these sun god(s) might be more like metaphorical concepts than actual characters on the plane anyway.
The fact that there are treasure tokens that appear to be Mesoamerican-themed and vampire-themed implies that treasure tokens will most likely not be exclusive to the pirate faction. This makes sense because it would be odd for pirates to have three exclusive mechanics (raid, vehicles, treasure) when all other factions have one or zero. Instead I think that treasure tokens will appear in all factions and probably across all colors. Explore will likely do the same, though I suspect it will be most prominent in black and green, while treasure tokens will be centered in black and red.
As for the actual cards, the land is a good but obvious design that I'm surprised they haven't done already. I'm just glad it's uncommon and not rare (or mythic). As for walk the plank, well, good removal is good. It continues the tradition of great two-mana conditional-but-not-that-conditional removal at uncommon in sets where it's way worse in limited than in constructed. Go for the Throat in a set full of artifact creatures, Ultimate Price in a set full of multicolored creatures, and now Walk the Plank in a set full of merfolk. The other two we already knew about, and both are basically just toned-down titans. There's not much more to say about them. But overall I'm pretty excited for this set and I'd like to see more of it.
No, it's just a token that you can use for either. Their being DFCs is mechanically irrelevant, it just means they're twice as useful as an additional card in your booster pack.

Unclaimed Territory will definitely help a lot of tribal decks in Modern, especially if they are budget.
Burning Sun's Avatar is....average. Nothing too special about it.
