Reading this thread and some others, there is a legal concern to put the action keyword of "transform" from Magic TG on a card using a Transformers license character thing.
That is all I know. This could just be the easiest way around it. I highly doubt they will change the rulings and wordings on all the Double-Faced cards. Moonmist would be quite useless if the wording did change. And at that point, I think flip cards could become like how DFCs are. ***
***Magic is a physical object game, unlike some competitors that can do weird effects making random digital objects. Momoir Sig and such are as close as you'll get to making random things. So all cards must work as printed as a physical object and why just putting, "This card becomes this other card" doesn't work.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. At least MaRo already stated that the Transformers mentioned as a "card type" in the lord ability of Grimlock is a reference to double-faced cards.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Yep. Dinobot was the name of a character in Beast Wars, though.
Who was not a Dinobot because he wasn't ever part of a specific Autobot elite attack squadron in the Great War, he was some crappy Predacon criminal on the lam with his crew until he defected to the Maximals.

Multiple continuities are fun.
Beast Wars is part of G1! It's not even a continuity thing!

Well, to split hairs - Same cluster (Primax), different universal streams. The point is, Transformers is big and complicated and reuses names, sometimes confusingly.

Thanks to the two of you and the others who expanded upon this. I was starting to wonder. So this has nothing at all to do with Beast Wars despite the name 'Dinobot' first appearing there. I can appreciate that.
Making Dinobot a separate creature type from Autobot would be like making Merrow or Leonin or Naga a special creature type over Merfolk/Cat/Snake.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

Well, not entirely true. The dinobots were a group in the original Transformer series (1985), lead by Grimlock, pre-dating the Beast Wars (1996) by 11 years. Beast Wars had a character named Dinobot, but he was unrelated to the original dinobots. He also had an episode called "Code of Hero" dedicated to a character study on him, and his death. It's one of the few episodes I clearly remember from watching it way back when.
But... Naga is a special creature type over snake :/
Yes, I chose to acknowledge the controversy surrounding this choice rather than to pretend it is always a clear-cut decision by choosing only favorable examples. This implies that I understand the reason they went one way here while also pointing out they could have gone another way - and either option has arguments. Nevvertheless the input from other members makes it easier for me to understand why the chosen option is sensible to a person more familiar with the franchise.

Cool. I don't recall them at all and thought Grimlock was a more recent addition. Though maybe I recalled the Dinobots from the 1985 series and wrongly assumed they were part of Beast Wars due to the thematic overlap.
If I didn't know those old series don't stand the test of time (and had some issues even back then) I'd probably look into them now. ^^
