Just treat it as Cascade 2 plus and you should be reasonably happy with the results. It's not a bad card at all. The more I read it the more I like it.
Most of us view colors in there mono playability not there splashabilty. Being a older player the game has changed in away I don't injoy.
You play a game where the colors are by design intended to have weaknesses that encourage playing more than one color and you complain that colors aren't strong enough to be played by themselves?
And your statement about playing the game for a long time only makes it clear that you are biased toward a time when development was doing a much poorer job than they are now. Believe it or not, players don't enjoy having their first three turns shot down with one red mana.
Mardu Vehicles is not really a red deck... it is a splash red...
Copy Cat only played red because Harnessed Lightning and Saheeli...
Marvel is a dead deck and, again, not really a red deck. Just a deck that splashed red.
a Classic Red Aggro or Red Burn hasnt been a thing for a while...
You mean one red card can make all the difference in a deck? Sounds like red is perfectly strong to me. See my reply to prismatic elf above. And I did say "current and former". I'm well aware that CopyCat and Marvel are no longer a thing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Players here are spoiled on cards like Doom Blade and Lightning Bolt.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Some of us don't enjoy the midrange love fest that standard is today. We need better spells to make the game interesting. Creature on creature battles are boring with out removal and Combat tricks.
There was a story today you know, for those wondering who's gonna survive or not. And if Hazoret not having a "~'s Last whatever" spell wasnt enough hint. =X
Sigh.
Would have much preferred if this were just Flame Wave or Anger of the Gods or somesuch. Even a Lightning Blast variant would have been fine. Can't use in Zurgo, moving on.

Quite a few weird interactions, and ultimately could be all right. Adequate ability to defend yourself, and some recycling, pretty amusing. Nobody's going to think, oh, yeah, of course (unless you showed it to them first. This makes ten mana, and not even urzatron does that, whereupon you are getting a cast trigger rather than karn, which could be all right if not for surge's clause. All told, though, if you asked, one turn later even on pure ramp possibility, the ones that attack beat him out.) And if it doesn't, you put a bunch of stuff into play. You'd need hard-hitting hate to beat some of the pieces, and even then, it'd have an enchantment, and could just throw down a big flyer. Oh, those ritual effects and their lion's eye diamond attributes! 7 plus 3 is 10, hilarious, bet they didn't think it was good.

"Warning: Um, warning. This is going to be a game state violation. And a taking extra turns and drawing extra cards violation, pretty much, a whole bunch of violations. Look at me, I'm the DCI."
It is a Red version of my pet spell Unexpected Results. Revealing the top 4 makes it potentially stronger, but as I have learned the hard way, total randomness means not competitive.
-The Scorpion God chases after Hazoret, who are followed by Samut and Djeru. The two humans leads Hazorets remaining initiates against the Scorpion God and some Eternals, finally managing to impale the Scorpion God on an obilisk and kill it. Hazoret, as the last remaining free god, promises to protect the people of Amonket and the heart of it's people.
I like how you can just kill the Scorpion God by impaling it. I hope they know it can come back from the grave! Or maybe it's just a huge story -> card mechanic fail.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
People here clearly have a short vision...this is a build around card that screams storm or chain spells until you cast emrakul.
Cast this and you might get a lotus bloom, gilded lotus into channel the suns or wheel of fate and start releasing mana until you draw your win condition.
Having read the story, this feels like a thematic card designed to give players the chance to "grasp frantically" for a solution against Bolas; one that ultimately will not work, as shown in the story. I'm starting to wonder if Design's devotion to creating cards that tell the story of the block isn't the big reason Standard competitive Magic is suffering right now.
My favorite thing about this is that it gives off a feeling of suspense and uncertainty, both in mechanics and in flavor. Is Hazoret going to bring The Scorpion God down? Or is her best effort not enough to avoid death?
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I'm actually more excited due to one of the gods surviving, and not the disappointment of this card. Having a lonely god and a group of followers travel around a ruined and hostile world full of forgotten civilizations to find a true oasis among the harsh sands, sounds like an awesome return set. The potential for cool world building has me way more excited than this forgettable Red chaos spell.

Wizards should thank their lucky stars that rare foil sheet was leaked because I'm completed uninterested in this uninspired set. Screw Nicol Bolas and his disaster porn spells. I'm just going to tell myself to endure this set until I can get to dinosaurs, pirates, and lost cities-world.
I feel much the same way. I've always hated the apocalyptic sets, and at least some of the others like Eldritch Moon and New Phyrexia had a few good and interesting cards. Hour of Devastation doesn't even have that going for it. I've been telling myself that I just need to tolerate it until July 14, and then, with the possible exception of a couple cards that might be worth using (the horse, for one), I hopefully don't even have to concern myself with this stupid set again, and I can start focusing on better things like Commander 2017 and Ixalan, as well as maybe reading the story again.
Hmm... From the way it's worded, I don't think there's a time limit on your free casts, right? I mean, it doesn't explicitly mention you need to cast them this turn, right?
You have to cast them right away. Otherwise it would say "for as long as they remain in exile."
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.

As it is, well, not really the kind of card i want to spend 6 mana for.
Would have been more interesting as an X-Spell that reveals X and gets to cast everything X or less, the fixed number makes it pretty mis(s)erable.

My Peasant Cube (looking for feedback)
Aetherworks Marvel can get Ulamog and Emrakul. This Red spell doesn't. Also it doesn't dig as mutch and you can't untap your lands.
Who knows this card might see play. But comparing with Marvel was downright silly.
But at least they're trying?
