These are both fairly interesting. Mizzix could probably have fun with Imminent Doom and Hour of Promise is very nice being able to look for any two lands, although creating zombies from it is a bit weird with the locusts coming in first, but two blockers is a nice addition to ramp.
The upside basically patches up the most significant flaw with playing ramp spells like Explosive Vegetation and Nissa's Renewal (though the latter does give you 7 life): leaving your pants down.
Or depths and stage. Probably too slow for any format where that combo is both legal and effective but I for one have no objections to a land based T&N for 4G.

Small bits of single target burn don't do much in the format and it takes far too much effort to get it to a significant amount of damage. Just because it's jank elsewhere doesn't mean its worth playing in EDH.
Promise is a very clever design. Getting two 2/2 blockers stapled to your midgame ramp spell helps you survive to cast whatever you just ramped to. I love this card and it makes me want to build a deck for it in standard.

Am I missing something or is Imminent Doom just terrible? I don't see any applications for it in any constructed formats, including EDH. It doesn't seem good in limited either.
The reason it is bad is because you have to put doom counters on it, and you don't get to deal damage to a creature or player unless you cast a spell with the exact same converted mana cost as the number of doom counters (rather than the number of doom counters or less).
