Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Interesting. It being a 3/1 flier with flash reminds me of Vendilion Clique, except with an easier cost. It doesn't have the disruptive utility of Clique, but then again Clique sometimes gives the opponent strong topdecks as well. Being a Stifle that replaces itself is nothing to scoff at, though. This might compete for Clique's spot depending on the matchup. Affinity, for example, would be much more threatened by this.
Did you guys know that back in my day, a card like this would have cost X6UUU where X was equal to our life total? You have no idea how good you have it now.
I am all for any "counter triggered ability" cards since there are so few ways to deal with etb triggered effects. They are sorely needed to curb ETB: The Gathering in Commander. However I am not sure why this needed to have the "sources you don't control" part, paying 2U to counter some random negative drawback etb trigger like Eater of Days is way too expensive. I don't think there are any applications even for Standard to counter your own triggers. Oh well, stifle on a creature is awesome and will be great recurring this to your hand repeatedly with something like Phyrexian Reclamation to stop oppressive triggers in Commander.
If only there was a powerful activated ability in standard for this to counter. Like on an artifact.
But in seriousness, solid man.
Yeah, on an artifact that can slap a Double Vindicate together with a ridiculously powerful monster by T4...nah, Marvel would have been busted anyway with this around.
What can I say about this card? an uncounterable cantripping Stifle is bound to have its uses, and in case you don't need it, you can always play it as a passable creature. I like it.
"[Y]ou don't control"? But what if I want a 12/12 trampler?
Sweet card. I'm sad it's a creature because my creatureless Kruphix deck would like this effect. Not sure where I'll put it, but I want at least one copy.
Edit: Oh, it's a Wizard. I'll put one in Azami for sure.

Because without that text if you wanted to cycle it with no ability to counter it would counter itself.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
Spike card is Spike. Home-run by all means for tournament players. And it combines two great effects (Clique and Stifle) that we usually don't get enough of. This is like Ben and Jerry discounted their ice cream (rare not mythic) and combined two existing flavors into a new one.

Also, I know some players who are all about countering an ETB effect from cheating in a certain untouchable legend. Not that there aren't already plenty of ways around it, but this is a particularly good one since it's generally uncounterable and has a cantrip attached.

Worse. Since an object on the stack cannot target itself it will counter your card draw instead (the triggered ability resolves before the card draw from cycling).

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

Very, very nice card. Mid-game pressure or a stop on an opponent's abilities. Good work on this one for sure.

Interesting this card is in HoD. Everything about it feels more like Amonkhet.
That's because it is. Stifle with cantrip for 2U? Generally uncounterable? Yes please!!
Oh, you can flash in a 3/1 flier in case you don't need the counter? TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!!
A 3/1 flashy flier for 3 is already OK in its own right.
If you have no use for him, you can just cycle.
AND you can counter some random ability!

I think modern players getting their fetchland activations countered are going to disagree.

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
