So Red is even countering (non-blue) spells now.
Wonderful.
Red has always dabbled with outside abilities. Either through random coin flip cards, the punisher mechanic, or a huge last resort drawback like losing the game on your next turn. This is nothing new, it's a spin on Final Fortune. Nothing new, just like blue players constantly whining about the latest spoilers.
this is probably the best red mythic printed in years, if not one the best red mythics ever period, and there are people pretending it's jank?! Wizards finally gives red a busted instant/sorcery card, like in the old days. I cant believe how much better red is in this set than every other color, except maybe green. when does that ever happen? I will play this card in every red deck I make, without question.
Well, it's literally Time Stop with Last Chance's downside. Slight difference. (Ending the turn exiles the whole stack as a state-based action. Also, you still get to untap, upkeep, draw, or whatever the hell else you did before your opponent Time Stopped you.)
And yes, two or more of these (up to four: like Time Stop, this exiles itself, so no recursion loops) cast turn after turn will prevent the "EOT = loss" until you run out of these.
I do like how design cost it at 3 almost as if to tease Isochron Scepter players.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
So what I'm hearing is you can play it, take your next turn, then cast a second one during your second main phase, and survive (but then are constantly in a situation that if you don't play it each turn or win, you'll lose).
If you can get this to work in Standard (or even Modern), we're really going to see fundamental strategic changes.
Should have been Blue. All the best Blue cards these days aren't even Blue. Upsetting.
Like blue would need to risk losing the game to do this. Red has had a long history of doing blue things badly ever since Wheel of Fortune was almost but not quite Timetwister. Rummaging instead of looting, temporary theft instead of permanent, only being able to use those effects at sorcery speed vs instant, counters that only counter counters, even some things that aren't fundamentally blue like creaturelords.
"There's three ways to do things. The right way, the wrong way, and the R way!"
"Isn't that the wrong way?"
"Yeah, but faster!"

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
I can't wait to cast this in an EDH game where some smug player throws out a board sweeper to save themself. Losing the game in my next turn will be worth the look on their face!
I mean, someone's gonna commission RK Post to do a Bobby Roode alter on this thing, right? RIGHT?!?! lol

Do you have something to deal with the loose the game part?
That's what i'm wondering. It would be nice to play in my zo-zu deck but i can't find any answers for the second effect in mono red. Unless you use it as a finisher but if you draw it early it's just going to be a discard.

As an additional cost to play ~this, exile a blue card from your hand.
Take an extra turn.

I can't see what so great about this card...
That's assuming that you don't have Gideon's emblem, only ever use Disallow for one thing ever, and don't win on your turn. Some things are worth more than the sum of their parts.
It allows you to do some real gamechanging things that a final fortune couldn't. It can effectively fog opponents on an alpha strike to let you swing in retort. Having the opening of countering an important enemy spell before you go in for your own alpha strike is pretty big.
I agree with everyone saying running this as a janky combo piece isn't practical, but even if this card doesn't see much play I'm in love with the design
Fun times with Hive Mind: "Everybody gets 1 more turn, then its game over".
because ending the turn exiles all spells on the stack, this won't work like you think it will. but it is an excellent kill combo regardless, I think. Almost as good as Hive Pacting.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.

So the Hive Mind trigger resolves first and the first opponent is left with the only loss trigger on the stack. I like it.

On phasing:
You can indeed.
I love this card. =D

RIP Magic Duels. Wizards will regret what they did to you.

Fortunately it costs 3 for all of the sunforger players. Add this to the list of RW counterspells with lapse of certainty and mana tithe.

This made me smile. ^^

Funny stuff. The original is a quote from "The Simpsons" between Lisa and Homer. But changed a bit, it certainly works well here.
PS: Could a Moderator take the "U" out of the title thread. Its driving me bonkers.

Actually, it was Homer and Bart. You'd think it'd be Lisa given her snarky blue nature.
