Given that the other deities all required something about the entire gamestate, I figured a modified Formidable (8 power among other creatures) would have fit a lot better than Ferocious, but it would also have been a lot worse. Eh. Also, though, it seems to me that Kefnet isn't the hardest to activate, since threat of activation does a lot to discourage attacks (ie you only need 5 cards in hand for 1 activation with land bounce to make him live for blocking and eating things).
Yeah. The carelesness in design is striking. Even a noob can see that this is easy to activate whereas Kefnet isn't. I don't see why they make the latter so stupidly hard to play.
Except that you can interact easily with this one to turn him off at instant speed. How does you turn off Kefnet at instant speed when instant speed discard is close to non-existent? Not to mention that Kefnet is evasive.
That is why kefnet is harder to activate, because he is harder to turn of and far more thratening once active.
Draw your last patethic god card so I can end this, Yugi.
My Egyptian deck has no pathetic god cards Kaiba, but it does contain "Rhonas the Indomitable"!
Easily the best God thus far. 3 mana cost. Hoop that you actually want to jump through to be able to attack. 3 mana basically gets you there unless you only have 1 power creatures in play. Grants power and pseudo evasion to push through damage. Sign me up.

Good luck keeping kefnet threatening.
You know you're drawing those cards because you need them, not because they make kefnet go?
Let me cast this Cast Out on Kefnet while you have 7 cards in hand.
Negate.
Sure. She's offline now.
If your opponent has 7 cards in hand as a control player, you're losing anyways.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Oh look, the Green God is the easiest to get going. It does things that move towards winning the game. Meanwhile the Blue God...wants me to have 7 cards to just block...
Sure...SURE. The spike in me knows what I'll have to play, the gamer in me dies a little harder when I see the imbalance between G and U.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I can't wait till I can play my bicycle land out, thus making me heckbent, while I have Nessie on the field. You know, so I can attack with my Pervert.
Neat card but, Creatures: The Gathering continues for yet another set.
I sense an old timey Blue player
Well ol timey is relative, I started playing in Urza's Block. I admit I like stack interaction and spells more, but I can appreciate a complex board state as well They promised us that they would print more powerful spells, but I am not getting that vibe :).

'course this set already had more cards that don't even refer creature as a good amount of sets before it but hey it's hip to rag on a creature-based game if they print a good amount of creatures right?

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
This one is definitely the Thassa of Amonkhet gods. My favorite is Oketra but this guy surpasses the other 3 by far. I already plan to use the U, W and G ones so I'm pleased they're good. The Theros gods will always be my favorite though
This guy is really good. I figured that his animation condition would be to control another creature with power 5 or greater, but I guess Wizards just wants him to always attack the turn after he's played.
My guess is that Bontu will say "Bontu can't attack or block unless you have 5 or more life than an opponent" and "2B: Each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life."
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Holy crap, this is by far the best of the gods so far, and I doubt Bontu would be better, unlike the others this has a very easy to achieve condition, a simple 2/x dork, in a green deck of all colors can be pumped by Rhonas himself and force you to kill it in response right away, else you'll be on the receiving end of a 5/5 indestructible beater with deathtouch. An absolute bomb for limited and it should be played in Standard as well.

I started then too, we're old timers compared to these young turks with their Rhonas and Baneslayer angels! In our day we had 4/4's for 3, with echo!
But nah, I feel for you. I personally am overjoyed at the time we live in, I like the board better than the stack, and the more muscle we have on creatures the better. But it is directly inverse to spell power, especially compared to the way it was pre-M10. I hope they balance the scales a little more to make both parties happy!

Seems legit.

I feel like I'd rather the gods be more like Chimeric Idols where all you have to do is pay a cost and they can be normal creatures for that turn.

Hey wow, one of these is actually good! (I'm expecting Bontu requires the opponent to have no creatures and lets you put -1/-1 counters? Maybe?)
Tell that to the following cards in edh which he will likely get paired with.
