Wait, so Aether-sucking out of living people is vampirism now? Interesting. Quite a neat development, and I really like this card for aggressive black decks. A fun little mono-black commander too I think, since it has haste.
I can see why they chose Vampire for her type, her siphoning ability is rather rare and this shows she is special. In this world this is the closest thing to a vampire. A shame they couldn't fit Rogue on her type line.
I think we already knew this was gonna be a vampire, didnt we? From the info page or something?
Anyways, cool, not super exciting to me though. Indestructible replacing regeneration still seems weird to me, but its all good.

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.

She is not listed on the page. From stories, we knew she was able to perform Essence Extraction, an ultra-rare feat among aetherborn. There are no vampires in the true sense of the word on Kaladesh, but the "gifted" aetherborn are closest things to them. So it is cool for her to have the Vampire type.

Wow this is an excellent breakdown, I didnt realize this was an uncommon ability for aetherborn. but I havent been reading as closely as other storylines Thanks!
For some reason though, I thought it was mentioned that Yahenni was a vamp, maybe on Tumblr somewhere..? or maybe I am thinking of someone's speculative guesses, oh well.
Cool character is cool, thumbs up

I really like Yahenni's card, def did not let me down. The art and flavor of the card are great, and I like the abilities. Yahenni can grow fairly quickly and is a free sac outlet, which this standard needs. Looking forward to getting a couple copies to try in Standard and EDH.
Oh, and that flavor text is on point!

Is Yahenni the first free sac outlet we've gotten since Nantuko Husk rotated? It's not Falkenrath Aristocrat, but considering it's a mana less, mono-color, and rare as opposed to mythic, it does a decent impression. (And it's even a Vampire, too, so it can potentially benefit from SOI block's Vampire synergies.)
I love that their card has haste: if they don't do anything, they've got very little time left, so they take action to prolong their lifespan...and if they do some good in the process, well, that doesn't hurt, either. (The card certainly triggers Revolt pretty reliably.)

Man, I just wish Yahenni wasn't such a nonbo with Yahenni's Expertise. You either cast Yahenni first and let them die to their own Expertise or you cast the Expertise first and now there's a board full of nothing for Yahenni to grow on and/or sacrifice.
That aside, me likey. Great sac outlet and very nice aggro card, even though it's a shame that it's a somewhat underwhelming Commander (unless someone can prove me wrong). Definitely not what I expected, but that "darling" in the flavor text just makes me giddy inside.

Not bad
Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans

Neat card, haste gives it enough to at least glance at for constructed formats.

Aaand for Aetherborns, you should refer to the individual as "them".
As for Yaheeni, they're OK, but doesn't strike me as constructed viable.
