I can't help but think you could build a decent modern Grixis artifact deck abusing Time Sieve with Pia's Revolution and a bunch of cantrip artifacts and artifact cost reducers...least of which "for the lulz"
For those on mobile who can't read the card images, here's the card text (minus flavourtext).
Pia's Revolution 2R
Enchantment (U)
Whenever a nontoken artifact is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, return that card to your hand unless an opponent has Pia's Revolution deals 3 damage to him or her.
Battle at the Bridge XB
Sorcery (R)
Improvise (Your artifacts can help cast this spell. Each artifact you tap after you're done activiting mana abilities pays for )
Target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn. You gain X life.
Dark Imitations 2UBR
Sorcery (R)
Each opponent sacrifices a creature or planeswalker, then discards a card. You return a creature or planeswaleker from your graveyard to your hand, then draw a card.
When you cast a Bolas planeswalker spell, exile Dark Imitations from your graveyard. That planewalker enters the battlefield with an additional loyalty counter on it.
DI makes me wonder if Bolas is playing a small part in the Kaladesh storyline. It could to be Tezzeret standing in the art, maybe he is still working with Bolas in some way.

You win target thread. If you aren't Atrius, Atrius wins that thread instead. "Wait, can you actually win a thread?" - Atrius.
Disallow can target fetches right? So far this is looking good.
I believe so, since a mana ability is classified as an ability that adds mana to your mana pool. Putting a land into play does not fit into this category.

Is there a deck that wants a 0 mana lava spike that requires a 3 mana enchantment?
Looks like someone's never played Magic for the lulz
I'm all for the lulz, this just doesn't seem particularly lulz worthy. Putting it in a time sieve deck seems much more entertaining. In that scenario you get to take an extra turn and offer you opponent the choice between take 3-15 damage or let you do it again.
My immediate thought on Pia's Revolution is to abuse it with Lotus Petal, Mishra's Bauble, and similar to turn them into bolts. Because your opponent definitely won't be letting you recur them because of the sheer ridiculousness it would give you.
Disallow is really nice, it's about time they understand 3 mana counters need to be really good to see any amount of play. little cruel ultimatum is just adorable, not to mention very playable. I love improvise too, lot's of potential with clues there. Art of the set seems really sweet as well, I'm slowly starting to forget the abomination that bfz was.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
@desrupot: Thereisacycletoo, along with a few other cards, including some that destroy or damage "creatures or planeswalkers".

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Disallow is strictly better Voidslime. And Dark Imitation is a sign of things to come.
It's been nearly an hour and noone has pointed out that Voidslime is not stricly worse because of frindge cases like you have 1 green mana 1 blue mana and a Pillar of the Paruns. Or you have out a Fable of Wolf and Owl.
Can someone explain to me why the Improvise reminder text says after you're done activating mana abilities?
Here's the full text for reference:
Improvise (Your artifacts can help cast this spell. Each artifact you tap after you're done activiting mana abilities pays for 1)
Thanks!
I imagine it is because a lot of artifacts have mana abilities and they don't want people trying to use sol ring for it mana ability and improvise. I dont think the rules would have allowed this anyway, so they are just making it clear.
Pia's revolution seems hilarious in storm in legacy where you crack LED and petal, they pay 3 life or you get more mana AND storm. Paying 3 life so your opponent doesn't get lotus petal back feels horrific I imagine and you're basically priced into it as the alternative is infinite storm/damage off grapeshot/tendrils.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Interestingly, Dark Intimations doesn't target the card you bring back to your hand (I don't think we've seen that since Breaking // Entering). You get to choose at resolution time. Which means your opponent can't reactively fizzle you by exiling the one card you want like they can with most Raise Dead effects (unless there's only one eligible card in your grave), and also means if your opponent's sacrifice is something you own, it'll be in your grave for you to fetch-to-hand when your part of the spell resolves.
Actually Krark-Clan is a really good example, because it means you can't tap a servo token and sacrifice it in order to get 3 for your spell. The same way you are not able to both tap a creature and sac it to phyrexian altar in order to pay convoke.
That's exactly what crossed my mind. Now about the cards...
Disallow is just nuts, considering the bar for hard counters is set at 1UU, might as well raise it as much as you can, an auto-include for anything with counterspells in Standard that's for sure.
Clash on the Big Bridge is a bomb in Limited and more casual decks full of cheap artifacts will love it, you can take down pretty much any creature with it while gaining a ton of life, just what aggro hates.
Dark Intimations is obviously good, too bad the Bolas planeswalker spell gimmick will be useless in Limited and Standard will have to wait until Amonkhet rolls in.
If the early spoilers are any indication, AER is showing promise, keep it up guys.
Nobody here is mourning Cancel becoming obsolete. Maybe, just maybe we'll miss the rarity, but that's about it. I see it as more of a long con played by WotC to emphasize Counterspell is gone for good but also to show that it is not strictly better than all 1UU hard counters. Cancel was just the messenger.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Etherium Sculptor, Time Sieve, bunch of cantrip artifacts, Pyrite Spellbomb, Second Sunrise, Lotus Petal....that's a combo deck right there! Add in artifact-based removal like Ratchet Bomb, Engineered Explosives...got yourself an alternative artifact combo deck to Eggs for legacy!

Yes, in the same way stifle does.

For giggles use Ashnod's Coupon.
What's next a funeral for Hill Giant? Cancel is a crappy card that no one has nostalgia about.
Also, Athreos, God of Passage for artifacts! I mean, yeah, it's a punisher, but what a punisher! (And of course, I can still hit you with Disciple of the Vault, Fangren Marauder, Moriok Rigger, Molder Beast, etc. Actually I now want to brew Jund affinity.)
@desrupot: There is a cycle too, along with a few other cards, including some that destroy or damage "creatures or planeswalkers".

Now it feels like they're just toying with us,
especially since KLD already draws a lot from FF.
