I am loving artifact convoke... will definitely have a use for it in my artifact cube.. and I get specially happy when Black gets decent spells that care about artifacts.
Edit: Was gonna ask "why no Story Spotlight 1/5?" but it looks like that's because it's from a story that got a version without a card because it already went up (#1).
Improvise is an interesting mechanic. It's not a particularly powerful card that we've been given, but artifact convoke has to get the affinity players interest piqued.
Cancifle is cute, makes for some awkward choices when it comes to Emrakul, do you want to counter Emmy or her trigger? I dont know if it will be much better than the current suite of counters, but the ability to turn off an aether works marvel is interesting.
Mini ultimatum is entertaining, maybe worth a slot in Grixis control, but being sorcery is a big strike against. If the loyalty counter on new Bolas makes a big difference it's value could go up though.
Disallow is strictly better Voidslime. And Dark Imitation is a sign of things to come.

Thing I'm craziest for other than the neatness of Dark Intimations is OH MY GOD ARTIFACT CONVOKE. Convoke is one of my favorite mechanics and it's super flavorful. Improvise just about matches the flavor level while also using another awesome permanent type. I love it so much. Improvise is so awesome.

So artifact convoke, artifact Athreos in red, better Voidslime, and a new Cruel Ultimatum? Not too original but cool cards. Artifact convoke will be good with clues and servos. Dark Intimations will be so fun with Bolas and self mill hopefully 4 copies in the yard can get Bolas to his ultimate.
The reminder text on Improvise is really.... interesting. A line of non-rules related text just feels so out of place.
Convoke had the same reminder text the last time it was printed. See, e.g., Covenant of Blood.
Yeah, last time I believe either wizards or the MTR Update article said they added the line because the mechanic only made sense to newer players once it was said to them anyway. Which makes sense, once you know that your creatures help cast this spell it is really intuitive but just reading the rules text about cost reduction is fairly unintuitive for newer players I believe.

I don't think I understand, do you mean that whatever story spotlight 1/5 is must be from the Yahenni-centric story from last week? That's probably true, but it apparently isn't Yahenni's Expertise because neither version of that card has the watermark or 1/5.
