Wait, so they're seriously giving the partner commander who makes infinite mana (Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix) a the drop of a hat a way to use that infinite mana and win the game?
For sure. I'd cast Thrasios only when I have the infinite mana too.
The beauty of this is the flavor here. Kydele resides as Kruphix's oracle at the edge of the world, which is where Thrasios supposedly found the sunken city of Olantin too. In his travels, he came across miss thang and then oops the game.
The best commanders are nonthreatening but subtly powerful. It fixes your draw, ramp you up and fill your hand in an inexpensive (to cast) package. Plus, great art. Momir approves.

I wish he was mono-Blue though. But hey, a card for him is certainly welcome. Does the exploration aspect make him Green?
I'm guessing you mean flavorwise, as they've basically shifted Coiling Oracle effects into mono-G these days,
much to my (and I would guess your) annoyance.
But yeah, wanting to explore is pretty GU all by itself,
as you are seeking to expand your knowledge of the natural world.
In other news, the two GU Parters make a much better same-color pair than most of the others.
I expect we will see a fair number of Kydele + Thrasios decks in the future.
They work very well with Simic Goodstuff, of which there is much.

I have a feeling they costed it 4 just so Training Grounds + Amulet of Vigor doesn't equate to playing all the lands in your deck in one swoop.
When you add Heartstone Wouldn't it mean you COULD do that? Since presumably the vast majority of lands you play could then be tapped for mana to pay the last 1?

Terrible Commander, decent creature. You would never run him as a commander cause there are better options that do the same thing but he's alright as a 99. Personally I prefer Rites of Flourishing.
There is literally no existing UG commander that really cares about lands. Repeatable CA on a commander is no joke, and he is never a bad option to partner with (best colors, ramps, draws, is a mana outlet).

Yeah I meant from a flavor perspective. UG does make sense for an explorer of this variety although I really had wanted him to be a Mono-Blue legend so I could run him in my Thassa EDH deck. Now he only fits in Kruphix, unless I run Thrasios as the commander with Thassa in the 99, but then it would't be a Thassa Sea Monster deck. Sigh. I don't know how to approach this situation. In fact, this product is a bit of a double edged sword for my current decks - it delivered Legends I've always wanted, but their Multicolor nature complicates my lists and themes, which were set by this point and now will need a considerable amount of pondering. I may have to take apart and reassemble many decks now to accommodate these major changes in color schemes.
It happens when the name is actually a current word in the language. Taking your example, Tana in italian is den, or lair. Not the best name for a mighty legendary card, isn't it?
Yes, it happens! But if it were only for "tana=lair" it would be harmless. We have a much more unsuitable association here, especially when the legend is a woman...
the error about Shivan Dragon was that the original translator didn't knew that Shivan was an adjective to the name Shiv, the card should've been translated as "Drago di Shiv"
the error with "Cappa" in sensei's top has been that they thought as Top like "parte superiore" and so used "Cappa" as in "copertura". Instead that translating Top as in "trottola" like decipted in the image.
back to the Theros name I noticed that other names has been translated with the correct pronunciation (Ephara became Efara, Athreos became Atreo and Purphoros became Purforos)
That's right. I wonder how much information a translator has at his disposal, and if they get to see the cards. And also, I think that especially in the first years translators didn't know the world of Magic and were maybe less professional than nowadays. However, this topic deserves its own thread!
Just as a last off-topic thing: if they had been totally coherent, they would have translated Purphoros with Pirforos, literally the fire-bearer (pyr=fire).

Trap your friends in an endless game with this 23-card combo!

Yes, but assembling a four card combo is quite difficult, and it should be worth the payoff.
You can also increase your odds by equipping Illusionist's Bracers and playing as many lands as you can which can tap for 2+ mana (Ancient Tomb, Simic Growth Chamber, Gaea's Cradle, Coral Atoll, Jungle Basin, Havenwood Battleground, etc.)
