I believe rather than feeling good about killing the gremlins your gaining life because your improving the quality of life for your average Kaladeshian by exterminating the pests eating their homes and technology.
When you're not also killing a bunch of civilians and their automatons. Worst. Exterminators. Ever.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Since wizards moved the wrath effect to "5 mana w/ upside", the "upsides" have been relatively meh: keeping your dragons alive was meh, because oftentimes your opponent also had dragons, end hostilities was meh because few constructed decks had equipment/enchantments, and planar outburst was the least terrible: it did not come up often, but I often awakened lands, and when that land was a shambling vent with activation mana open, that was game over. Awaken on control cards like planar outburst, coastal discovery or scatter to the winds failed because control decks want resilient finishers, not stuff that died to all the otherwise dead removal spells rotting in the opponent's hand.
All of this to say that this is finaly the first "5 mana wrath with upside" that has me excited. I can see a situation where if the aggro deck does not kill me in turn 5 I can wrath, gain 4-ish life, and take over the game. This is the upside controling deck wanted on their 5 mana wrath. Now, how about a languish replacement, or will we have to go UW and use engulf the shore in the 4 slot??
Animation Module + Syndicate Trafficker = 1 + sac a token to put +1/+1 on Trafficker then 1 to create a 1/1 artifact token = Syndicate Trafficker has "2: put a +1/+1 counter on Syndicate Trafficker; it gets indestructible until end of turn".

Fumigate is good, but between Selfless Spirit and Delirium, I'm not sure Descend Upon the Sinful isn't the better choice. I guess it depends on how aggressive the format gets. If we're consistently dying before T6, this starts to look a lot better.
Why is anyone gaining life here? Do they eat the corpses or something?
I think the flavour is that by killing the gremlins in the fields with pesticides, the life gain comes from the nourishment of the crops that were saved. Sort of like Swords to Plowshares.
These cards are both great. I'm sure they'll both see Constructed play.
Is that really it for rares and mythics?
We do have all 15 mythics, with the spoiling of Dovin and the red gearhulk. But assuming I didn't miscount, we have 50 rares, which means there should be 3 rares still left to be revealed.
...then again, considering how the set has played out so far, I think I'm more interested in how many uncommons are left.
Edit: Because I wanted to answer my own question, there have been 41 uncommons revealed. So, if the trend of 80 uncommons in large sets continues, there are 39 uncommons left to be revealed (including the last four multicolor uncommons, which have all been quite good so far).
What's the most resilient parasite? An idea.
A single idea from the human mind can build cities.
An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules...
Fumigate, the artwork is so mean. I'll play it in every white edh deck anyways, but... so mean.
I wonder if Syndicate Trafficker is a good addition to my Marchesa modular deck. There is no artifact creature that has to do with +1/+1 counters yet in this set... so weird. (psst, I'm aware of Verdurous Gearhulk, I mean in UBR)

Yeah, for the most part I'm far more excited about the uncommons.
I think Fumigate just killed what was left of any hopes aggro decks had. That along with the one mana tap creature enchantment, and Avacyn. White is well positioned I think.
I feel this next standard will be a midrange slugfest again. I hope I'm wrong though.

Yeah, Lifegain makes it better than Planar Outburst, but I don't know if it's enough to make it a good card. This is certainly worse than Languish.
