The flexibility this has is huge for its EDH playability, particularly in Izzet spellslinger decks where flipping something like Suffocating Blast off a Mind's Desire or Epic Experiment does nothing for you. It's protection when you need it to be and a potential game-ender when you don't. Big fan of this one.
Very nice! At 4 mana I don't think it's quite good enough to cut it in standard (although i'd love to be proved wrong at the moment i'd much rather have a cheap conditional counter like Negate or be able to deal with Emrakul etc. using Summary Dismissal) and it's not up to Cryptic Command level for modern but for EDH having that much versatility in a counterspell is amazing. It's nice how it can deal with uncounterable spells by either choosing new targets for them or copying them yourself.
I would like this if the art was pretty. But it's not, so I dont. Ill keep twincasting thanks

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
If you could choose two, this would almost always be a 3-for-1 or better. For four mana. IOW, too often better than cryptic command. Can't happen. With a single mode at three mana, it would be so much above cancel it's not funny, since it would almost always be a 2-for-1, except in corner cases where the counterspell mode is the only viable option. Again, too good to see print.
Thinking about it a bit more, I think this would have been amazing if it was printed in Eldritch Moon with Escalate. Even at Escalate - 2 it would have been interesting, at Escalate - 1 it would have been really neat, and if it was Escalate - Alternate Cost it could be a modern staple. Imagine Escalate - Reveal a blue card from your hand, or Untap a tapped permanent your opponent controls, or the classic Return an island you control to its owner's hand.
Redirecting damage-based spells will almost always be better than countering, redirecting Collective Brutality or Transgress the Mind seems fine. In control mirrors, copying (or redirecting, can't remember if we have any good "target player draws" cards in the format) a card draw spell is usually better than countering. I think this card is perfectly playable as a one or two-of.

The only thing you can redirect on Collective Brutality is the -2/-2. Target opponent is a prevalent term now.
Redirecting any escalate spells seems good, but redirecting a fully escalated Brutality seems like a jackpot. Assuming all modes hit, that's a 5-for-1 and you're up a couple life. EDIT: Derp can't read. "Target opponent" too stronk. Although you can copy it and get all three modes for yourself without discarding.
Unless this Standard format turns out to be blisteringly fast, which I doubt, I bet this card easily sees at least moderate play as a 2-of in any kind of midrange or controlling blue build. Flashing this back for free off of Snap-Hulk seems particularly good.
Part of me kinda would've prefered it to be a blue Wild Ricochet because having 2 Wild Ricochets in an EDH deck would be awesome.
As it is though a flexible response spell is fine too.
I've also been wanting a blue Wild Richochet ever since Wild Richochet first appeared.
If this had "choose one or two," it would be all that and more,
but this still has some utility that WR doesn't.

Solid card. I don't think 1 is too much for this much flexibility.

I hate how much value it has. New Cryptic Command?
