I like all the versatility on this card. I think it'll slot in nicely in EDH decks. Casual will enjoy it too. I think it's just totally outclassed by Cryptic in Modern though.
Actually it is from the Mana Source's preview card video. Not trying to be rude or anything just making sure you give credit to the right person who spoiled it first.
After Escalate and Saheeli's Artistry, it's weird seeing just "choose one" again. There were so many instances of "choose one or more" and "choose one or both" that losing that makes the card feel more underwhelming than it ought to. (Because it's a damn good card, I just had a bad knee-jerk first reaction to it.)
Also, Baral's going to be White/Blue, right? Silence effects and counterspells? I mean, just showing up on a counterspell's flavor text isn't a selling point by itself, given that Chandra of all people has a quote on a counterspell this set, but magic nullification is Baral's whole shtick.

Could be interesting. Wishful thinking I know, but whyyyy couldn't it have cost UUU?
EDH decks love it, in fact I'll probably end up getting a few copies. Standard applications will have to be seen, modern and other formats probably don't want this.
Holy Crap!
I literally had the idea for "redirect or counter target spell" last week-
even though this is costly, the extra "copy" option makes this one of my favorite spells ever.

Interesting. Will probably use it in edh. Maybe standard? Idk. It's very flexible for a counterspell, which is nice, but 4 cmc is a bit high for a counterspell. Being able to make someone kill their own creatures or planeswalkers could be fun, though.
Misdirect for a 2 for 1 will be the best mode, but it is very difficult to run a Misdirection in your deck because the effect is so narrow. Having a counterspell option makes it always an option and occasionally a really good option. The copy mode seems to be a little harder to make use of, but I believe it is on the card to make better use of modal spells, as the choices are locked in and you might get better value by casting a copy of your own to choose new modes rather than countering or reassigning targets.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
If it said choose 2 it would be like the next coming of cryptic command maybe, but meh. The flexibility is where this card draws its power from. Might be a 1 of, although it's hard to compete in a world with summary dismissal.

When you copy a modal spell the modes are still locked in. The only times I can think of copying over counter/redirect is if it wins you the game, to copy a counter with upside, or to copy your own stuff.

Probably better suited to EDH but may see some standard play if some key spells worth redirecting pop up

Either way, I kinda have to question why the first option is there, but anyway, I guess some people will nevertheless love this.

You can Counterspell your opponent casting their Geist of Saint Taft or other oppressive general.
You can Misdirection a Path To Exile coming towards your general back to one of your opponents' creatures.
