Makes me wonder if it's worth playing in a deck that runs Geistblast instead of madness spells for a 3UR discard 2, draw six.
Interesting. Especially since I think the timing on that you could discard the Geistblast to cast Reuinion and then use the Geistblast you just discarded to copy it. I think it could work in a Stormchaster Mage/TITI type deck.

Rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain.
So odds on this making it into something like modern burn with Temper..? I mean it swaps lands for gas if you're flooded and gives you a good opportunity to pitch temper if you have them... Pretty great either way.

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
This whole set is about feel-goods and inclusions of already accepted things. Except for one thing. But thats okay because that one thing gets too much spotlight all the time!
As much as I like the card, the effect doesn't really reflect the art or the name in any way at all. :/
Not every card can be a flavor homerun, I guess.
I thought Doug Beyer explained it really well when he previewed it:
"What if red card-drawing were flavored as the process of expunging a complicated knot of painful feelings that are now, finally, in the past, and about the dawning possibility that, together, we might just be able to labor through the lingering ache of those past tragedies – and maybe even dare to feel a wrenching surge of hope?"
Okay I'm sorry, not going off on you specifically but just people who are complain/saying stuff like this in general. My mom is fully Mexican. My dads family is Middle Eastern/Israeli. Both of them are pretty dark skinned and I ended up white passing. It happens people.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"

Next thing you know they'll print R: Discard your hand, draw that many cards just so modern dredge actually goes bananas. This does go bananas though there. Big counterspell target indeed, but when you pitch double fiery temper to this and madness both, and this resolves, you're so heavily favored to win.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

More importantly, Daddy Nalaar was clearly light-skinned. Chandra just happened to get "recessive" on her genetic die roll for skin/hair color. That and she's a magical mutant. She coulda been born with six toes and a tail for all we know.

Why not just play both? At the very least, it seems like playing Fiery Temper is worth it, and you can use a similar interaction with Lightning Axe to kill two x/5s. Don't necessarily need to go all in on the madness theme further than that
Though avacyn's judgement might be worth playing anyway, and nagging thoughts certainly could be worth using.
I am VERY disappointed that the name is used for this kind of effect (though I admit I'm not sure what to use for this). But that aside, I guess this card is ok.
Such a red name. Lightning Bolt. Fireblast. Flamelash. Cathartic reunion.
And just to &*T*O& with you, we'll have it have nothing to do with a reunion or being cathartic.
Uh buddy... you do know that Red is the color of emotions right? Right? Red is passionate about everything it does. Learning, killing, and even loving.
From Doug Beyer preview: "In the abstract, one of red’s specialties is supposed to be emotion—the whole rich, complicated, fervently-felt spectrum of unique feelings." *SPECTRUM*
More likely she's a genetic sport. That explains her pyromancy when neither of her parents had it as well as her colouring differential.

Just because this has been bothering me- it would actually be this:
1RRR
Sorcery
Deal 3 damage to target creature or player.
Deal 3 damage to target creature or player.
Draw a card.
I.e., it just replaces the cards you discarded. It doesn't get you two extras.
That said, it's still quite good.

Good point. That's what I was trying to say, but I was not as clear about it as I could have been.
That might be too strong for dredge decks. It'd be like Tolarian Winds but without the card disadvantage.

You forgot to add 'as an additional cost discard two cards'
Yes Red does love. It loves the strongest, but its love is also the most temperamental.
