Kolaghan's Command just used the Kolaghanite. This can be gross in the right decks obviously. I can't believe this and Tezzeret's Ambition are both thought to be at the same power level (common). This just blows that out of the water.
In limited Cathartic Reunion gives you +0 card advantage, whereas Tezzeret's Ambition will almost always give you +2 card advantage. They are very different.
They are very different... one allows you to get rid of lands and still have mana left over to play something, where the other costs insanely more possbly still getting rid of a card and having a hard time playing anything else that turn. Where the red one you could put more than 2 in your deck... the blue one you almost certainly don't want 2 due to the high mana cost.

But Drawing three cards for 5 isn't insanely expensive, it's right around where it should be for a common. Also assuming this is limited, you need a lot of your lands to play your 4cmc+ cards, you're not always going to be able to toss them away.
Another question to ask is, "Which card would I rather topdeck?" Topdecking is a frequent occurrence in limited, and Cathartic Reunion is a god awful topdeck, as it's a dead card you can't play until you draw two more cards, of which you might want to play. Tezzeret's Ambition on the other hand is an excellent topdeck, and one I'd want to see.

Soundslike you don't draft very often. Most times when you 'top deck' that cathartic reunion it's pretty easy to figure you'll have some lands in your hand. On the flip side, having 7 lands on the battlefield facing death from your opponents creatures and drawing a tezzeret's ambition is almost always going to end in death. So much for that excellent top deck aye.

It depends on how you play. I tend to hold onto no value lands rather than lay them down, just for cards like this and it also pressures the opponent into thinking you have answers.

I draft often enough, and I'm actually pretty good at it, so I don't know what you're insinuating. You will not always have excess lands in hand when playing Cathartic Reunion, it can easily be a dead card in your hand in many games. I don't know why you assume Tezzeret's Ambition is going to lead you dying? Assuming you've built a half-way decent deck you should be matching your opponents resources and board state each turn. Assuming an equal board state, spending a turn to increase your card advantage will not lead you to die on the spot, unless you're a bad player and let it happen.
The only point I was trying to make is that they are different cards, they go in different decks, and in limited one isn't THAT much better than the other.
Just what I needed for my madness deck. Time for Double Fiery Temper!

This whole set is about feel-goods and inclusions of already accepted things. Except for one thing. But thats okay because that one thing gets too much spotlight all the time!

Wanted -Zombie Foils and older expensive Zombie stuff. High Priority- Beta Z Master/ Int. Collector's Edition.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Brilliant.
I tend to judge the power level of sets based on their commons. Khans was at a very high level, Kaladesh could follow suit.

Could use the "if you do, draw three cards" wording. But that's a little clunky. Card is fine as-is in my opinion.
Perhaps she takes Jaya Ballard's line on Melting: "Who needs the sun when you've got me around?"
"WHY DIDN'T WE MAKE THE KITTEN STRONGER?!?"
Selling some cards I don't want.
