Nayenyezgani: Eh, that's fair. To each his or her own, lol. I didn't love BFZ but I've been pretty steadily cool with it since then. For instance, Saheeli really is enough for me, which doesn't seem like a popular opinion. Though, I do hope we get an awesome UR legend in Aether Revolt.
It's just people overreacting lie that guy up—oh wait that's you also. You let me down! Lol. Btw, whaddya know they just released another black rare. I think it's just fine, but idk if you will lol!
What do you feel black is lacking or what do you want to see in order to feel that the power level is on par? I thought Aetherborn support was looking pretty awesome so far, I was actually hyped about it, but I also know that you're really talking about Rares and Mythics. Cryptbreaker and Relentless Dead were pretty cool though, right? Lol I didn't even have Lili and mono-black zombies were wrecking for me!
That's great... Mono black zombies were recking. Wow. Arguing with you is pointless, you're an obvious professional. Sorry.
What is black lacking? Efficient removal, discard and draw cards that don't punish you for playing them. A fair share of mythic rare cards. Playable creatures and powerful walkers. Similar to what all of the other colors get. Instead of asking stupid questions, why not use a little common sense.
Mythic rarity is not meant to 'balance' power level. How many mythics did the average Bant Company list played? Something below 4 copies between avacyns and Tamiyos...
Black power level is decent to very good right now. Pro Tour SOI had multiple versions of Black Green decks, then we have had Liliana delirium decks plus some interesting zombies decks, and the Control Decks right now are often Languish decks like WB.
Compared to other colors, it's in the top 3 in support, behind only Green and White.
Concerning the efficient removal etc...the set is not entirely spoiled, and black already has some.
Planeswalkers: red is getting upgrade but Liliana and Ob Nixilis are very good very playable PWs, 2 monoB walkers in the last two blocks: thank god we took a break!
Green creatures being better is part of magic identity and interest: the color pie. Other colors don't get better creatures.
Again on mythic rarity, this time apart from multicolor, every color is getting two mythics, that's balanced. The multicolor distribution does not include black but it included black à lot previous block (Olivia,Gitrog Monster, Grim Flayer, Sorin, Gisa & Geralf...) and we cannot have each guild at mythic each set or block...We are getting less black mythic in this set because of the many more we had in SOI.
I get it's your favorite color but it has had enough support recently...
Previous sets had colors spread out and evenly distributed. Each color has access to at least three mythic rares. White is the only other color that has 3 while black has two. My guess is this, the slots for blacks mythics were allotted to artifacts instead of balancing the number of mythics per color. I understand that rarity doesn't mean power level. That isn't the point I was making. They have shorted black on mythics this set like have they have constantly shorted black on power level. That was the point I was making. Wizards has lopsided balancing right now in both rarity and power level. The balance of power isn't spread throughout the color pie, it is condensed in certain colors.
Is there still hope for a whirler rogue reprint? That card was great!
It can still slot in at #70, but Experimental Aviator speaks against it appearing, I think. Artifact synergies (and ways to re-trigger ETB effects, for that matter) are a lot more powerful in Kaladesh, so Whirler Rogue would be a lot more potent than it was in Origins. (And from what I remember hearing, it was a top uncommon in Origins limited already.)
...then again, I'm still holding out hope for Ghirapur Aether Grid at #116. Anything's possible.
Unrelated: I have a feeling that #191's going to be an artifact rather than a multicolor card - as is, there are four more multicolor uncommons to come (GW, GB, GU, RW) and five multicolor slots...but all of the rare and mythic multicolor cards so far have been legends or planeswalkers, and bar a surprise Baral or something, we're out of those for the set (and he'd overlap with either Dovin or Kambal if he was multicolor). So it feels like that fifth slot at the end of the multicolor section will probably be another "Aether" artifact instead.

Nayenyezgani, you're making a mountain out of a mole hill and derailing a thread in the process. Magic has always been a game of ebbs and flows in all colors, all to maintain some form of balance all throughout Standard. Every color gets its shot. Does R&D know everything and are they able to come up with every possible deck and situation? No, that would take years of testing. So yeah, mistakes happen. However, to say black is lacking is not looking at the entire picture. Black has solid removal right now, could one of thee spells have been an instant, sure. To ask for draw without drawbacks is to encroach on blue's card draw and wouldn't feel black from a 'power at a price' flavor standpoint. Yes, wizards is playing it a bit safe on discard but they also did just print the first random discard card in years: Whispers of Emrakul. The equal share of myhtics should not be limited to one set but to the entire format.
