This has to be real, it causes Hanweir, the Writhing Township to make complete sense. Hanweir, the Writhing Township is the product of several meld cards transforming into an oozing, living Eldrazi amalgamation.
The user who first posted the picture on reddit (leakyfaucets123) also made some other posts. No picture though, so take them with a grain of salt!

As an additional cost, sacrifice a creature you control. Search your library for a creature card with CMC equal to or less than the CMC of the sacrificed creature plus 2, and put it onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. Exile Eldritch Evolution.
"Emerge is a new keyword. You can sac a creature to help pay for the cost of an emerge guy. Colors don't count though."
"Some cards get better if more copies of it are in the yard. Like a burn spell that does one more for each copy in yard."
Query: if one casts Coax from the Blind Eternities to get the other component for a meld combo from the sideboard, can one choose a card based on its Eldrazi face-down side? Because this makes for an interesting connection with the Sideboard discussion and why we are getting such an unusual tutor.

How do you tap that thing without it being a horrible hassle? Imagine having multiple meld BFMs on the battlefield and you want to swing in with all of them.
Since the art for the human part is new I guess this is real, but the logistics make me shudder.
My guess is that the flipped side is legendary and so you have to sac one of the two.
This would be consistent with the idea of two thing merging into one, and would make sense with what the poster said "they get better if you have copies in the yard"
Is weird, it's gimmicky...I love it

So, prerelease weekend winners already determined? People who get matching sets in their pre-re pool dominate people who don't? And the result of such swingy synergy in commons likely to bring out the cheaters who will sneak matching cards into their pool and pretend they picked out?

I don't know how I feel about this. It seems awkward upon first read, but intriguing at the same time. All will be revealed in due time I guess. I wonder if there are different combinations of cards that can be melded?

Can you name all of the creature types with at least 20 cards? Try my Sporcle Quiz! Last Updated: 6/29/20 (Core Set 2021).
Oh, so that's why Hanweir Township (and, presumably, Chittering Host) has haste - you're supposed to be able to rumble in with it as soon as you Meld it from its component pieces. And the Township makes up for the card disadvantage by immediately turning two (or maybe three) cards into three bodies. Maybe the Host produces Rat tokens for a similar effect?
(This is such a weird mechanic - weird enough that I have trouble believing it could be fake. Under most circumstances it would feel gimmicky, but in this specific set, it's flavorful as hell and I'm on board for it.)

I'd love to be wrong, though!

Yes.
However, they handled this reasonably well-
neither half will be a "dead" card in Limited,
it will just not be able to reach its full potential.
