This magic year looks incredible for me, eternal masters is around the corner and now an announcement for Kaladesh. I'm a bit worried though, that another artifact-centric block might be too soon for quite a lot of players. Hopefully the block is so well designed that it doesn't seem like a copy of Mirrodin 1 and 2. Art-direction up to now is just amazing, I think, all those vibrant colors together with the fancy crafted metal might be a foil-collectors paradise. Also calling it, steel overseer reprint seems waaay to fitting in this block.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Welp! Looks like those equipment/artifact themes that were running through SoI and BFZ under the surface are about to get support! ALSO A FREAKING R/U PLANESWALKER!? STEAMPUNK FANTASY PLANE!? MaRo You are giving me exactly what I want!
I'm pretty neutral to the announcement, considering all we got were Set Names. I'm not particularly excited to visit Kaladesh since I can't really think of a lot of different ways to utilize artifact blocks after Mirrodin and Esper and Kaladesh looks set to be five-colored Esper if Origins was any indications (except with more Thopters, I'm sure). My Modern Affinity deck is certainly more excited than I am in general, I would suppose. Hopefully we'll also get that UR artifact-orientated Legendary Creature a lot of EDH players are clamoring for.
Aether Revolt doesn't spell anything I could possibly guess happens in the block until we get the general idea of Kaladesh's plot.
Purely amazing. A cool setting. An awesome looking new planeswalker who could be UR. Chandra's home plane. The possibility of a Chandra-centric story. Probably an artifact theme. Thoptergeddon 2016 edition. I'm loving all of this.

Good, now that thread with the stupid Egypt rumor can be closed now. I don't know why anyone thought it was credible considering nearly everything that comes from 4chan is fake.
Set symbols (attached) are on the coming soon page, which also has them for every other announced product -- but still not for Eldritch Moon, interestingly.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I actually think Aether Revolt is probably my second favourite set name ever, after Morningside this is completely ignoring the contents of sets tho, Eventide was may fave for cards oddly enough
I'm hopeful for those awesome tiger-things that chibi-Chandra fought in one of the Origins arts but that never got it's own card in Origins! Also kinda hoping it'll be an enemy color focused set, that we'll see Tezzeret or Karn, and that Chandra will mature a little. Also hoping the setting will have plenty of visibly mixed ethnicity rather than all looking Indian to avoid the problem we had when they randomly decided Gideon was from Theros.
We just had a "White antagonist" set in SOI. Green is a good possibility though.
Based on nothing but general feelings, I'm guessing that this could be an enemy-colors set. Kaladesh, after all, was the UR plane in Origins.
Based on Chandra's Origins story, the antagonists are likely White/Blue. They are the reigning governmental body that is controlling the distribution of mana on the plane, and have outlawed the unauthorized use thereof. Sounds either mono-white or UW.

If Eldritch Moon isn't your favorite set name you're wrong
It seems quite plausible after both Maro and Matt Tabak spent a lot of tumblr-time on it, especially Tabak's, slightly forced, negative attitude.
An interesting setting for sure, I hope it doesn't get too polished.
Many thanks to DNC at Heroes of the Plane Studios

I am...quite okay with that.

She looks UR or maybe URW to me (although a Jeskai planeswalker in a non-multicolored set may be a remote possibility).
