while i don't want to talk about if that card deserves to be rare or not,
i am thinking about ways how to use it for ramping, i think the most interesting first spell are Hybrid ones like: Safewright Quest and Scar
Woah, quite strong. This makes any proactive 1 cmc spell much better. The green delirium tutor, for example, should probably be played in any green deck which wants this. You might see a split between ramp decks with this, Chandra, and Fiery Impulse vs decks with Wastes and ruin in their wake.
A U sorcery that investigates twice would be extremely good now.
Glad to see somebody is thinking instead of just moaning.
In a real non jace deck. This card has little applications. The only way is to mill yourself, which i want to see thought scour again, or mill others. Jace is going to go over the 100$ limit because if u play jace + this, you got yourself some ramp midrange deck.
Of course, this card does have it's bad case of T2. T3-T4 is going to be the turning points of being behind or ahead of tempo, which this format is going heavily towards. G/R acceleration is the only non tempo creature tempo deck that acceralates towards end game creatures. This card isn't better than playing a T2 druid, but it's power is less than that of hedron crawler.
I think it's a bulk rock for the bulk bin. It will see more play in non green decks post origins. For now, we have enough T2-T4 plays as it is.
So no one thinks that this might be a rare because its multicolor mana rock in your deck's colors at 2 mana? (Or maybe Wizards is aware that the player base is full of easily confused idiots and they don't want this to cause aneurysms in Limited and Sealed.)
It's only a matter of 'undefined type' here. The translation being obviously wrong (does not work properly with gold cards), it's very possible adding C will work.
Except that colorless is not a color and Wizards has been very clear about that. It's only people on MTGS *****ing about how "its a sixth color" who are saying otherwise.
If colorless were a color then Coldsteel Heart would let you produce colorless mana by picking it.
With my luck i will pull alot of these in the pre release.I know i know its good in the pre release blablablabla but you know sometimes i want cards of value in other formats to justify the price im paying to play in it and not play it and have everything i got get stuck in a box of jank
Because it's highly conditional. Therefore you can't depend on it for mana when actually need the ramp (ie the first few turns).
It's almost like a mini-combo: If you draw this AND a way to put a card of a relevant color in the GY early in the game, then you have the honor of ramping by a little bit.
Sad rare is sad. I can open Sorin or Nahiri. Or stupid useless tapped ramp stone that needs something in GY to function. Yes sure. For last few sets, they started to print some lame uncommon stuff as rare...
W may only be paid with white mana. U may only be paid with blue mana. B may only be paid with black mana. R may only be paid with red mana. G may only be paid with green mana. C may only be paid with colorless mana. 1 may be paid with white, blue, black, red, green, or clolorless mana.
Is Standard really so slow and creature heavy that no one bothers to play a significant number cheap instants and sorceries? (Honest question. I don't really keep up with the format.)
It will depend on the full English wording whether it can produce colorless mana. I'm inclined to believe it will be worded such that it can produce colorless.

You don't seem to realize this works perfectly fine with gold cards, regular of hybrid. If you have RG or card in your yard and tap the tombstone for mana you choose to get a R or G because the cards is both of those colors.
And what makes you think other languages don't have a description for colorless or clear that wouldn't be included in the translation?

I am not the least bit shocked that this is rare. They have been slowly moving every playable effect out of common and uncommon and into rare to sell packs for a while now. The reason people expect this to be uncommon is that the 2 cards in the modern pool that most resemble it are Coldsteel Heart and Star Compass both of which are miles better than this card since you don't have to jump through any hoops to generate mana with them. Coldsteel heart operates the way you want every time you play it and can even fix your mana for you. I believe I can remember MaRo saying that it was too good for non green decks to have access to a long time ago though. Star Compass can't fix your mana, but as long as you aren't mono colorless lands in play you can always use it to ramp to 4 mana on turn 3. Corrupted Tombstone can actually fix your mana if you discard or sell mill a spell you cannot cast, so I do like that aspect of it in a format that is likely to have a few of those effects (hopefully we'll get a thought scour reprint). On the other hand, unless you cast a spell on turn 1 (keeping in mind that most of the dual lands in the format come into play tapped on the first turn), the tombstone cannot ramp you into a 4 mana spell on turn 3. This makes it worse than the 2 earlier uncommons. In today's format I think that is likely ok, but it begs the question why did they feel the need to rarity bump it?
On the plus side, you can have access to multiple smaller spells through this rock on turn 3, which I think is fine for control decks that want good fixing and the ability to double spell early to keep up with what their more aggressive counterparts are doing. Also, with the move to 5 and 6 mana wrath variants, having a rock you can drop in at 2 mana makes surviving to wipe a real possibility in what looks to be a format with some crazy aggressive decks.
Doesnt this help mana fix the Standard aggro Eldrazi decks that add B, R, or U?
Not very well, cards with devoid have no color, and they would still have to find a way to get cards in the graveyard. This is best in a deck full of non permanents.
"Add one mana of any type of this card's color identity" or something more english around those liens would work. It's a technicality. By using the word type instead of color, you get around it.
So now you're assuming the the words for "color" and "type" in Chinese are indistinguishable. Great.

Not only that he seems not know English well enough to understand that the card says to add one mana of the cards color. Since he seems to think Cromat would add WUBRG to your mana pool instead of just one of those colors.

Eh, modern design philosophy makes it pretty clear that Wizards doesn't want turn 2 mana rocks to produce colored mana the same turn, exception that proves the rule being Fellwar Stone. However, seeing as getting the needed mana color off of this guy is conditional, I don't see why this couldn't enter untapped. As of now, it's a bleh Star Compass. :/

i am thinking about ways how to use it for ramping, i think the most interesting first spell are Hybrid ones like:
Safewright Quest and Scar
example:
T1: if i play Godless Shrine pay 2 life and cast Safewright Quest to get a Stomping Ground
T2: play Stomping Ground pay 2 life and play the Tombstone
T3: play a basic land like Swamp and put a Dune-Brood Nephilim on the field (or any other Nephilim i want)
also about the Hybrid spells, if its true that we are soon back to Ravencia again, we might get more 1-Drop Hybrid spells.
Glad to see somebody is thinking instead of just moaning.
It's quite funny how the rares people criticize here, such as this or the green mana dork, are the one's that will actually see competitive play.
