Ok, this set is starting to feel crazy. Some cards are good and are in the lower rarities and then some cards are just mana dorks and are in the high rarity.
Tamiyo's Journal with this lets you pull any creature out of your deck and put it into play. Both this and the journal are too slow at generating clues alone I suspect, but with enough other sources (and there look to be quite a few), it seems like it could be pretty fun.
Wow... This + Tamiyo's journal = half tooth and nail. That's not shabby.
I"m really hoping there are some good uncommons that allow you to sac clues, or maybe another rare.
Maybe something like :
Draw Conclusions (3U):
As an additional cost to cast ~, sacrifice an number of clue tokens
Draw a card if you sacrificed at least one clue
You may tap target creature, it doesn't untap during it's controller's untap step if you sacrificed at least 2 clues
Draw 3 cards if you sacrificed at lesat 3 clues.
I really hope I get to build a scooby doo deck in draft one day.
So turn 5 cast Journal, pass your turn. On your opponents endstep, sac three clues search for Ulamog, put it on the field (No trigger), turn 6 attack with ulamog.
Sounds good to me.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
That first ability is weirdly close to my attempt at designing a Halana and Elena card. Didn't have the "one or more" rider, though: it triggered on each instance of damage. Guess that might have been a bit silly when Chandra's Ignition is still in Standard.
Works with combat damage of any kind, works with fight effects (and, even better, one-sided fight effects), works with the aforementioned Chandra's Ignition (if inefficiently), etc. The activated ability is probably not going to come into play much, but at the very least this card should usually replace itself and has the potential to generate legitimate card advantage. Fun uncommon.

If you could get 3 clue tokens in the first 3 turns, then play patrol turn 4 and then play Tamiyo's Journal turn 5 (or get 2 in first 3 turns then successfully deal damage to a creature with patrol turn 4/5).... you could play emrakul (without cast trigger) on turn 5.... turn 4 with ramp.... maybe a ramp card that also investigates?
Still, it is too fragile a combo to go much further than standard/casual...
The Tamiyo's Journal + Briarbridge Patrol interaction doesn't work the way people want it to work, right? Briarbridge Patrol's trigger would resolve first, then you can search for a creature. Though not a judge so I could well be wrong.
Edit: I reread the card and saw that it triggers at the end step.

If you read Patrol, it triggers on the end step, so if you sac the clues and tap the journal at the end of the turn before the end step, the journal's ability to search for a creature will happen, then at the end step the patrol's ability will trigger.

It definitely looks like investigate is in green as well.
6 generic Mana to play any creature in your hand?
a little mehI feel I've undervalued the cardThat wording means you can use alternate sac outlets like Atog to trigger the second ability.
Six generic mana to draw three cards, then play any creature in your hand.
Of course nothing for constructed, but very good limited card in my oppinion.
Alters
Yes you can. Or feed them to Kuldotha Rebirth or something like that.
That's cool. Kind of a "Build your own Nahiri's ultimate".
...and it will go get you the creature card you're putting on the battlefield. Too expensive for Constructed, but would make a fine Limited strategy.
